I'm understand all those but I guess what I'm talking about is painted black with the redline stripe. I'm a big Hot Wheel collector and back in the day the cars had redline wheels and that is why the new Camaro was to be matching. Use the wheel in different looks is ok. But when it is painted to match a Special Edition leave it special to that car only.

Well I see what you mean.
Remember the green hot wheels concept camaro? It had 10 spoke zl1 wheels (with machined face and a red stripe...which were never on a car in that paint scheme). Looks like GM had to change horses and pull from the accessory wheel catalog instead.

awesome! and yes I had a yellow Camaro. did a lot to her and was a great car. learned a lot from doing different projects on the car but I always wanted a V8, but not just any V8. when I saw this Hot Wheels up for sale I grabbed it. I just joined the FB group but I am now trying to figure out what # my car is. I followed a link to a 'My Chevy' site and entered the vin# and can't find a link to see what number I am. any help would be appreciated.

As a Canadian we had trouble getting the certificate , originally went to a link filled in the blanks , downloaded it and then you could print it . however that link seems to have disappeared. I have contacted Gm on this they say go to that link you went to create an account and request the certificate . I have also sent a message to a gm employee on this who helped get it fixed for us Canadians even though it was temporary as I can't get back into it

So what are everyone's plans with mods this year? I put in a rather large order with www.rivercitycreation.com (Camaro Customs) for a bunch of engine/interior custom painted pieces. I'm not going to tell what exactly is getting painted until I get the parts.

that company does great work. I got my boyfriend a painted strut brace for his ZL1 and it was done very well.
since I just got my hot wheels Camaro I'm a little scared to do too much to it for fear of hurting the value of it. right now I know I'll be putting a new CAI on it. the stock one ain't doing it for me. I would love to get the engine cover painted and add a nice strut brace for it too. and if I really wanted to go nuts I would love to add a noweeds diverter to it for a much more aggressive sound.

I wouldn't worry too much on the value of the car. Most dealers don't see it as a special edition, they only see it as a regular camaro with a kick ass paint job. Yes we do have a rare car, but the dealers don't see it that way. If someone is selling the car privately they might get a little more for it, but honestly don't worry about it.

I have done some "minor" mods (as you can see in my signature), but I know that I am keeping this car for a long time so I want it to look a little different then all the other HWSE cars.
