They've got the LT4, so I'm guessing we'll see a magride/LT4 equipped Camaro that'll be similar to the ZL1 in spirit, even if they name it differently.

I'm not going to claim any insight as to what Chevrolet is doing. But I think Chevy needs to step up to the plate with their pony cars.

Dodge has the Challenger and the Charger Hellcat. Ford has the new mustang, with the GT350 coming within the year. Quite frankly I'm considering these pony cars.

GM/Chevy needs to bring their game to the playing field if they want to remain in the game.

Just my 0.02 cents

I haven't seen anyone else mention it. But the Cadillac website says the 2016 CTS-V will have the LT4. Simple logic would suggest we will see a Camaro with an LT4 under the hood. When the 2016 Camaro is finally unveiled, we could just get a standard Camaro. Or, we could get a big surprise with a standard Camaro and several high performance models as well.

It doesn't cost anything to dream.

All Dodge and Ford have succeeded to do is add more HP than Chevrolet(in models released so far). These cars have failed to outperform, except in going in straight lines.

Is that all you want from your pony car?

Okay, the Gen 5 ZL-1 was not released until the Gen 5 Camaro had been on the road for 2 years, after one year there were rumors of a hi-power model and at the time everyone thought it would be the Z/28. When sales numbers are considered the ZL-1 has been a success for GM. There are probably more ZL-1's on the road than all of the other competitors that have equal or greater power... combined..... Look for a new ZL-1 in 2017 or 2018 depending on how much research GM wants to put in the new car.

I don't think they are going to keep both the ZL1 and the Z/28 especialy since they are so close in Price. My gut says with all the praise the Z/28 is getting they will discontinue the ZL1 and and beef up the SS or a version of the SS with some stuff from the ZL1.

Do you mean back in the 60's?

Yeah I think you are right, back then it was all about the drag strip.

I haven't heard it mentioned either, it's just a logical progression to me. The ZL1 was a success, they've already developed a supercharged motor and got MagRide/performace experience with the Alpha platform with the ATS and CTS, so the major pieces and motivation are there. I'm not saying it won't happen immediately, just that it's what I expect them to do at some point with the 6th Gen.

My guess is that if they don't have zl1 then the z28 will have to have a street model and track model. Maybe do that via options. The z28 isn't a good daily driver as compare to zl1. Also, I think they will have to offer a supercharged engine as well. If they do those two things the z28 could be a pretty amazing car.

I doubt you will see a supercharged Z28. NA for the track!

When I bought my ZL 1 in December the dealer pleaded with me to buy the Z/28 he had. Its been in the show room so long they had to get the jump box. I was tempted took it for a test drive, and that convinced me I did not want it. You do not realize how luxurious the ZL 1 is until you drive the Z/28.. and I still do not understand $25.000 dollars for less horsepower, no radio, no A/C, no sound deadening. No back seat???
