Just a lil side note, and food for thought, here is a link to a 09 Porsche GT3 owners manual, here is a copy and paste from the safety notes section. I did not read the rest of that owners manual, there may be more..http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf...l_GT3_PCNA.pdf. .I think the warranty brochure is separate.

"Your vehicle warranty does not cover use in competition, racing or track use or other events. Components and/or parts that fail during racing or driving events (including Porsche sponsored events) will not be covered by the manufacturer new car limited warranty or the pre-owned vehicle warranty.

Your new 911 GT3 has been developed with experience gained from the development, testing, and driving of countless GT vehicles. While drivable on public roads, the GT3 is specially equipped for racing on racetracks and is set up at the factory for the adjustments required for racing.
"

Now before some of you get all excited and go AHAAA!, it should be noted that it writes "new car limited warranty or the pre-owned vehicle warranty" but doesn't mention power-train warranty.

I'm trying to find the warranty brochure but can't (yet).

Also I want to address some comments...

Yes I understand I am playing with the big boys and realize there are large costs involved in tracking cars..duh. However, rather than buy say a honda civic for commuting and another fully set up m3 for the track, I decided to combine the two, something i can play around with on the 2000+ miles a month I drive AND still be pretty competitive at Laguna (the only track I have run this car on and I like it, because it is not just about the car so much). I had a 2010 GT500 before, fun in a straight line, just don't touch the wheel. That car sucked, broken axles, bearings, drive shaft, steering components etc, but guess what? I spent $50k+ and ford fixed EVERYTHING, they did not blink on anything...EVER. So the very first time something comes up, Chevy goes the other direction. Not Cool. period. There is no way you are going to legally find my issue on the street as the problem occurs at high speed only. So because we don't have a track next door to the Chevy dealer so they can replicate it, it IS MY FAULT. That my friends is a pretty FKed up approach.

Long story short but my 1LE arrived with brown spots under the clear coat. My fault as i drove it home in the rain. I brought it back the next day and they said its not there problem. I can tell you BBB (better business bureau) fixed that and i got a new camaro.

Good luck as it took me over a month to get it fixed.

If i were to take my car in for warranty work on the clutch I would for sure check and clean all burnt rubber off the wheel wells and wheels.

like someone else said motorsports is expensive you got to pay to play, its not cheap, these cars can be money pits. If you track your car (drag or autocross) over and over something WILL break eventually weather it is a "track" car or not.

Also people need to stop being so sue happy and sueing someone or a company for the dumbest shit.

shouldn't have to worry about rubber on a "track car" please watch the video in #63. Also, once again, this is a 6 month old car that has been to the track THREE TIMES. I do not expect wear issues other than tires in that time frame. If I FK up and break it, so be it, I will fix it, I do however expect SOME support on a car advertised as "track ready"

Interesting that you think GM AL in the video, enticing people to spend $45K on a "track car" and than bailing out on them afterwards is "stupid shit" I wonder if you would feel the same if your new house had black mold under the drywall.... You know that would be "stupid shit" to sue for. How would you feel if the contractor's answer was "you took a shower in here, so you introduced the moisture" This is the same thing, my new house needs service due to a defect and all i see are GM's taillights peeling out of my driveway

So I sent this to GMCS....interesting reply, pretty much says it ALL, doesn't it:

XXXXX, please explain this video, which was a factor in me purchasing this car:

Al tells me it's a "track car" but CS does not.

Craig XXXXX

Craig,

Thanks for your reply. As a customer care advocate, I'm unable to provide commentary on the video included.
