Had the contract signed, bank was ready to roll on financing, building inspector climbed up onto the roof, looked around, then looked down at me and said "Yeah this isn't good."

Plus I guess the plumbing was banned back in 1990 or something...?

Sellers wouldn't drop the price down far enough to cover all of that.

Yeah, nice house. Just wouldn't be able to afford all the work needed.

Sucks too cause I sank $500 into that inspection. I might be inspecting the wrong things if that's how much those cost.

Yeah it sucks that you are out the $500, but it is better to find out the issues before you buy.

Getting there. The bank did an inspection, but I'm beginning to think they didn't even walk into the house. Several electrical issues that I'm pissed about right now. I let them know what I thought about their "Inspector"

Pretty sure the bank just looks through it to make sure how much they're lending you is an accurate figure. I don't think they actually do a thorough inspection.
