I know there's a thread somewhere about the oil catch can. I couldn't find it though.
But my question is simple:
I install my catch can and after 300 miles I saw a small quantity of oil. I got 2000+ miles on the car and just last week I had about 2oz of oil. Am I loosing too much oil, is this normal?

Normal, empty and forget.

I get 2 or 3 ounces a week in my catch can, that's what it does. It's water from the air and oil mixed. Don't forget it, check it every week and don't forget to check your oil level. I add a Qt. every 1000 miles or so.

I have 2-3 oz every 5K miles. I check it periodically but only empty it at the oil change.

Thanks guys. But don't you guys think that's too much oil losse?! I mean, for the avarage joe that doesn't know about this you can blow an engine for lack of oil no?!
