Idler Relocation Bracket Needed???
Do 9.17" lower pulleys need the idler relocation bracket? I recently had the supercharger replaced and had a 8.86" pulley prior to replacement. Now with my new supercharger I'm going to add injectors and I might as well get the 9.17" pulley. The LSA pulley chart (as seen below) the chart has two rows for 18% pulleys, one with the bracket and the other without the bracket. Additionally, in the notes it states "for applications where the crank pulley is GREATER than 9.17, the LPE bracket is required..." So people who have replaced the lower pulley to 9.17" without changing the upper supercharger pulley did you buy the idler relocation bracket?

The bracket is not required if you use a lower 50mm idler gear.

^^^what he said. The 50mm idler is a POS. Get the relocation bracket and use the stock idlers which are much better in my opinion.

I'm getting confused though if either is necessary. If I don't purchase the relocation bracket then I have to purchase the 50mm idler?

The stock pulleys have better bearings in them plus they are larger.

[QUOTE=mnvaughn;8177885]No clearance problems at all?[/QUOTElower
I did a 70mm on top and bottom idlers without any problems. Tensioner was so tight it took two people to put the belt on. Deffinately no belt slip. |

the 50mm lower idler is fine, however it has been reported to have some failures. The relocation bracket by LPE is the best fix and replace the stock idlers on it.. Metco is not as good as the LPE bracket as I have tried both. Don't try to overthink a simple issue as the solution is right here.
