Congrats, there is no issue per say.

After the engine breaks in it pretty much goes away.

It is worse just after the oil change.

Ted.

The COPO comes with longtubes doesn't it? Aren't you gonna get a smell from those regardless?

Not true. There are many, many posts about this. I still have the smell in my SS (on certain days) after close to 10K miles.

The poster said cpo = Certified preowned, not COPO. LOL

My 13 ZL1 did it til 1500miles. Then I really got on it after breakin and it went away. Hasn't come back. I can only assume putting it thru some good heat cycles seated and sealed everything.

I am familiar as I have experienced it first hand on my ZL-1, after running it on the road coarse several times the smell is gone for good.

Maybe your not driving it hard enough

I am at about 9,000 miles, drive hard, and run on the road course a couple times a year. It still smells off and on. Must be normal. I should clarify, I haven't been on the road course since the last oil change. Not sure what is considered driving hard. I usually do a few drifts and get to 100 every time I drive it.

As I stated earlier new oil will smell more than old oil, as there are chemicals that are released when new oil is heated.
