Trick for Drying MM Incredimitt
I have been doing this for a while now and it works well for me.
After you have washed the mitt, before placing it in the dryer on low heat, flip it inside out. I run one cycle in my dryer on low heat, when the inside (which is actually the outside now that the mitt is flipped) is fully dry, flip it back and the outside is lightly damp. Now I have clean mitt which will air dry in about an hour. I'm not heating up the microfiber so I can't damage it, and I don't get any lint from the dryer, plus the mitt gets fully dry so I don't get any mildew while in storage. To elaborate on the flipping process, point the mitt with the open end away from your body, use your 2 index and middle fingers to stretch the spandex on the open end, use your thumbs to work the mitt from the base inside out, when your halfway there is a cloth "handle" which is sewn on the inside, gently pull and it pops right out. I just got mine in the mail and haven't washed it yet. I'll definitely try this!

Do make sure to wash any microfiber or wash media before you use it for the first time.

That was going to be my next question. Is it OK to use plain laundry detergent (I know NOT to use fabric softener)?

I wouldn't. Spend the cash and get some microfiber detergent. It's not worth the risk when you're spending big $$$ on towels.

OK, I'll get some then. Any suggestions? I also got a Dry Me Crazy towel, which I haven't washed yet either. Is it OK to wash them together with the same detergent?

You can wash all your microfiber together. I use Blackfire Microfiber detergent

Corey at Car Pro did tell me when I purchased my MM stuff that you can use any detergent that is Free/Clear, MM recommends using micro-restore, so that's what I use.
I'm sure the Blackfire will work just as well as CDO7 has had his MM towels longer than I've had mine. |
