So, maybe a stupid question but do you guys figure there's a way to tell what map you are in from the OBDII data? Ignition timing at idle etc?

No placebo effect for me. Pulled fuses overnight and picked up 5 MPH in 1/4 mile trap speed! Similar conditions. NO OTHER CHANGES. See time slips in another forum.

Did you stop to think maybe your car has never had lower octane fuel in it, having never needing resetting with the fuse pull, you didn't feel a power increase because you've had the correct power the entire time? |

Im fairly certain GM didnt put 93 octane in my Camaro when it was built and I am also fairly certain that the dealer didnt put 93 octane in it when I purchased it. Dealers (most) only put 87 octance because its cheaper unless a customer demands 93 octane if available. The fuse pull doesnt work simple as that.

I'm still thinking there must be a way to empirically verify this.. do a run, log timing, pull fuses, do another run and compare?

It is easily verifiable. Its part of the factory tuning. Plug in and check it out. Or call up any competent 5th Gen Camaro tuner and ask them about what they do with the low octane table when they tune. It is there to protect your engine if you get bad fuel.

Yeah I get that, I just want to know if I could plug in and see which table it's currently in?

Im still very skeptical but im gonna try it on my 1LE which I havent did. I tried it on my 2014 SS and couldnt tell a difference but it could just me because I dont drive my cars hard enough to maybe even see a difference. So im gonna give it another shot this weekend and see what happens, hell it cant hurt to try and see what happens I suppose.
