Kooks 1 7/8" installed, now have more questions
I finally had my headers installed catless.
Along with my other mods, it is freakin loud. I've had them on for 2 days and out of courtesy to my neighbors ( I go to the gym at 5am) I need to quiet it down a little bit. I want to add the video but am having trouble uploading it (any suggestions) Would adding cats back to the mix lower the sound a little bit ? Also my butt dyno does not feel a drastic difference in power. I am having it tuned tomorrow, will that make the power more noticeable.

L99 or LS3?
Going with cats would have helped a bit for sure. I would suggest installing a Magnaflow Resonated X-pipe to start. They are cheap($100), and significantly reduce the volume. I installed one for the same reason after my cam install, but sadly my particular combination produced a resonance frequency that would rattle the fillings out of your teeth, so it was promptly removed the next day. Other than that, I was VERY happy with the results and am sad it didn't work out for me. I would not let this scare you. I am a unique case, as a guy I know has the EXACT same setup as me and he didn't get that resonance issue I did. After that, if still too loud, then there is not a ton you can do(try adding cats). I have even researched alternative cat backs and none will really be much quieter than my NPP with the flaps closed, and with the insane price for a cat-backs, it just is not worth the money. Good luck man!

Well I can't imagine a magnaflow resonated x pipe is going to do much good on quieting it down on account that you still have the stock resonator. If it were me in your place I think I would get high flow cats, and put the stock mufflers back on. And get a tune as soon as you can. An L99 with headers and no tune has got to be very annoying with AFM. With a good tune you will definitely feel the increase in power especially the way the tranny will shift.

It sounds awesome! Have your neighbors complained? Honestly...I'd leave it. Trust me you will get used to it and will think it's quiet. Starts your car up and don't jump on it till you get out of your neighbors vicinity.

Yes it does sound good. What I said above about putting stock mufflers back on after you already changed the diffuser is not a good idea. I was thinking of what it would take to quiet it down.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to leave it alone for now, I have a range afm so no afm kicking in. I am getting it tuned tomorrow in the am.
I guess I was expecting a huge power difference but am guessing once it's all tuned properly I will feel it much more.

Call me inconsiderate but I do not care what my neighbors think...I would leave it and let them get over it...I also do not purposely romp on my car in the neighborhood...not saying that you do..if I was driving normal in and out of the neighborhood I wouldn't pay any mind to anyone else
