went out to start my 12 SS today its been under the cover for a while

battery dead I didn't use a tender but now ignition key won't come out of ignition
whats the deal?

Dead battery. Put a jumper pack on it and turn key to off its normal on our cars.

is the ignition all the way off? if not, may be the cause. or still stuck after charging?

The key will get stuck in the ignition with a dead battery. Charge the battery some and you can get the key out.

The exact same thing happened to me today with my 2010 SS! I connected a charger up to the underhood terminals, the lights flickered and came on, the emergency flashers came on (which I had to manually turn off), and the key was able to be removed.
