I run Amsoil on all components that requires oil on both of my cars. IMHO it's the best oil out here, yes more expensive but worth it. I change my oil once a year and get in analyzed and after 18,000 miles the oil was still good and my numbers are great.

Redline advertises that the additive is already in it. Others here have confirmed no problems with Redline when they didn't add extra additive.

I went with the Amsoil, which does need a little additive. I went that route just to "be sure." I didn't want to add the Redline only to have to double back with additive later.

Both are fine.

Both are excellent choices and both have additive, but in my experience you need to add additional additive to stock Camaro differentials.

Not true. I run Redline fluids and you need their friction modifier to add to the diff fluid.

Well, tell that to the umpteen Camaro5 members who didn't add it.

I suspect both Redline and Amsoil have some additive. But, how much is necessary will differ with every trans. That's why I erred on the side of caution and just used the additive with Amsoil.

From what I have been told, it is really hard to use too much additive (though possible). So, adding a couple ounces as a precaution should be fine.

Flip a coin.
I used Lucas w/friction modifier in it...drained, filled and drove.

I used AMSOIL and put in extra additive. 8k miles later and no issues. Hooks up nice and quiet around the turns.

I use Amsoil, has the additive in it already, but I added an additional ounce or two just to be sure.
