Looks like I will once again be without my car, but I will be there to hang with you guys none the less. I don't think I have ever missed one of these shows, so I'm very disappointed, but alas.....she is still down south getting some work done.
what time does this shindig kick off?

"One would think". I totally agree. But what's happening I think is that QA1 takes advantage of the smaller diameter spring to move the shock body closer to the steering knuckle. So that, combined with where the 2 threaded adjuster collars are (inconveniently at about the sidewall of the tire), and there's essentially no way to tilt the knuckle inward to go negative in camber.

I decided to run a small 5 mm spacer and my rub issue went away. I even played with my camber plates and I could run it up over -2.5 without rubbing on the 10.5" rims. I almost bet that if I ran a 10" rim and 275 tires there would be no rubbing and thus no spacers needed.

Installed camber plates, Hotchkis maxi-brace , some new beefier suspension parts and new tires & rims. Installed 285s on all 4 corners. Moved offsets to gain 1" wider track in rear and 2 1/2" wider track up front. Now the front and rears are the same tracking width to outside tire dimensions. Running some extra negative camber but can dial in more on race day. Also installed the Vitesse throttle controller to eliminate the lag but I have gotten used to running autoX with the lag that I am surely going to spin the rear tires until I can adjust my lead foot to compensate for the sensitivity now.

Hope to see yall guys and girls this weekend in PCB at the show. If anybody ever wants to run the autoX events in Dothan let me know. I would be thrilled to meet and have another Camaro run up there with me. It is always fun and addictive.
I wouldn't mind seeing what autocross is all about. I'd like to get into road racing but as far as I know there aren't any tracks close by nor have I ever done it before, but in my mind autocross would be the next best thing. I've looked into going to Bondurant but since I bought the '67 I've had to put it on the back burner.

Check Chin Motorsports website. I think they host track days at Little Talladega which isn't too far depending on one's definition of "far".

I would be interested in checking out the autocross in Dothan.

March 8th (Sunday) is the next event at Dothan. Usually 5-6 of the Gulf Coast Region (GCR) SCCA members run up there every month. If you decide to go let me know, we can meet up on the interstate and travel together.

If you make the car show this weekend hit me up and we can talk about it and some other special autoX events around locally.

Let's make a run for Dothan in March.
Here is the only video I have on my iPhone of me at Hunt Stagefield just north of Dothan. It is not a clean run as I hit a cone on my off side in the slalom, then I lost the rear grip as I accelerated too hard coming out of a power sweeper turn. It takes seat time to be able to gauge off side cones so that's why I sometimes mount my go pro to see how close I am. Sometimes just a little "too close". Lol

This is a video from my YouTube channel.

OK....for tomorrow morning Car show....let's plan to meet at 8:15a.m. at the Hobby Lobby Shopping Center parking lot (Stanford Station Shopping Center, 820 W 23rd St, Panama City, FL 32405). There is a Chick-fil-A there if anyone is craving when you arrive for breakfast. That is close by to the show, and we should all be able to roll in together.

SEE YOU THEN!!!!
