I bought a new Camaro 2LT 2013 only 2 weeks ago, and it quickly developed all sort of strange problems:
1. Every once in a while it asked me to roll the window down and then up. I read in the manual it happens sometimes, and the purpose of it is recalibration of the windows. Well, now I have to do it every single time I start the car. 2. The remote start no longer works. It will attempt to start the engine, but it will fail. The engine does not seem to start as easily, but maybe I am making this up. (battery gauge shows the battery is fine) 3. When I start the engine, sometimes the trunk opens. The first time it happened, I thought I just accidentally pressed the trunk release button. But in some cases it happened, I was positive I didn't press it. 4. When I started the engine today, the flashers started blinking. I did not turn them on! I don't have time to take the car in this week, but I am starting to get worried what else will break... Any ideas what these issue could be? |

Sounds like you need a trip back to the dealer for an OBD review. That is certainly not normal.

It sounds like your car is being posessed I would take it to your nearest church and have a priest perform a blessing on the car, lol sorry I had to say it, however I would take it into the Dealer and explain all the issues your having and let them take a look and see what they think.

My friend had this very same gremlin. It turned out to be a bad cell in the battery. It took his dealer about a week to isolate the problem. His is a 2012 2LT M6.

Took my 2010 SS ZL575 in on Tuesday. I noticed some weird electrical issues.
When I have my lights off of Auto the car remains running after turning off the ignition and removing the key. If I reach over and turn the light switch to auto the car turns off. If a keep the lights in auto it shuts off like normal every time. The only electrical upgrades are the a couple of the plug and play harnesses from Gen 5 DIY including: The one that allows my halo's to be on at all times and the one that allows the running lights to stay on while the main headlights are on. I also upgraded the running light bulbs to better match the color of the headlights and Halos. So far the local Chevy dealer is stumped the put a call in to Chevy main office to see if anyone else has had any issues. So far I have not told them of the harnesses I previously mentioned. Has anyone had something like this happen? If anyone has similar modified headlight harnesses please try to duplicate this problem. I have had no other electrical issues with my car, so this is really weird. Thanks Stefan |

Follow up on electrical issue
So I initially had the power from the fuse box hooked to 15 instead of 17 but low and behold it repeated the problem when moved.
Yes when i disconnected the power from the Gen 5 harness input and re-installed the original 5amp fuse the car shut off problem is gone, but of course now I can't have all the time running/fog lights and halo's. I know Ofer is not feeling so great today and I did touch base with him. He asked me to let him know how I hooked everything up and I relayed that information to him. Would love to know if anyone else has used both the harness that allows all time running/fog lights and the separate one that allows all the time Halo's. I love having the ability to have all my lights on at will. Thanks |
