I just took my camaro in to the shop for the spoiler being loose. Everyone check yours. I had 2 bolts missing which made it loose. Just pull out the 4 black plugs on the inside when you open it. Leeward Servco fixed it right away for me. One bolt had to be back ordered but it was done right away. I HIGHLY recommend dealing with these guys.

I was washing my car the other day and found that my spoiler was loose. Everyone should really check for this problem.

Does Hawaii still enforce the placement of the UGLY inspection sticker on the rear right portion of the bumber...that's worse than having front license plates...are you allowed to place it anywhere else (like on the rear window, etc.)?
It really takes away from the looks...and what happens when it gets replaced...does it take the paint with it?
At least in VA it's in the center bottom of the windshield...comes off easy for the next year and doesn't detract like the Hawaiin one...have the people of Hawaii ever complained about it and asked that it be placed elsewhere?

No......people in Hawaii complain about things but put forth no effort to get anything taken care of. Then the other half dont care what the state makes them do, they just live with it. Strange place to live that is for sure.

Yeah. I posted about this issue on august 8th. It was a torque wrench issue at the factory. It was set wrong and the bolts not tighten to specs. Looks like a lot of cars went out before it was caught. There are six bolts holding the spoiler in place. Most are saying that the bolts needed a half a turn before they were tight enough. One had the bolt fall inside the trunklid and the service center had a hard time removing it. I think they said they had to use a magnet to get the bolt out. I had four bolts loose on my camaro. Yes, if you havent checked yet, please do so soonest!

My plates finally came in today. I was surprised that my sequence started with "P". I started seeing "PY...." in May so I figured it would have rolled over to the next sequence by the time I picked up my plates. Oh well.

Bently78,
You would think that they could place the inspection sticker somewhere on the plate...and combine the registration sticker into one sticker (i.e. MAR08)... I mean I definitely remove the dealer's crap off the rear, but to have that state inspection one and it's huge is really ridiculous (are the cops that blind?)...the people of Hawaii (at least the car aficionados) should revolt and start petitioning their local legislators to have it made smaller, removed, etc.

I lived in Hawaii for 24 years and yes that stupid safety check sticker is an eye sore on the rear bumper. Also if you modify your car there you gotta get a seperate sticker that looks just like the ugly safety check stickers, so now if you have a modified car you got three of them on there. Yuck! Also Hawaii is required to have the front plate on there too. That state blows when it comes to trying to keep your ride looking good. Just my two cent's though

Dont know if any of this is legal but ive seen cars with the safety sticker on the license plate (which i plan on doing) and some people have separate little metal tag with the safety sticker on that hangs under the bumper which i believe is legal.

Front lic plates.....i will NOT bolt one on to my new 2SS, i'll keep it in the car and place on dash if i get pulled over, if i absoulutley have to get one hung im looking at the retractible unit i've seen on here.

Hawaiis laws are outdated and a reminder of Gustapo controlled Germany.

I just got back from Walmart about 10:45 pm. I locked my car, but I thought I forgot something in the car so I turned around to get back inside. As soon as I unlocked my car I looked down and what do I see?... A white line. My first thought was, did I brush up against my car? I leaned in hoping it was just a scuff mark that could be buffed out, but upon closer view and a little touch I found that it was a scratch, and it wasn't from me. I looked down the side of my car and there it is, my car was keyed from right above the front wheel to the end of the door on the drivers side.

I can't believe how disrespectful people are. I can't understand why people would do anything like this for no reason what so ever? I can be very vindictive. If someone really pissed me off I know how to mess with their car. But that's the thing... if they did something to me. I don't go around messing with people's cars just because it's nice.

When I see a nice car I go out of my way to give as much respect to it as possible. Like not parking next to it. If I have to park next to a nice car I will give them as much room as possible. I will contort my body so that my door will not come any where near hitting their car.

So I walked around my car to check for more damage and didn't find any. I am going to double check it in the morning when there's more light. I'm also going to make sure there's no other damage from an attempted break in. As of right not it looks like most of the scratch can be polished and buffed out, but there's two areas about 3-4 inches along the scratch that took off paint down to the metal. Does anybody know if this can be touched up professionally? And if so, is it going to be pricey?

There's no other damage done to my car. I got a quote from a guy who was highly recommended by a friend. $800 from work on the fender and door. Does anybody have any other recommendations? I'm not going for showroom perfection, just something that might not be noticed unless you were up close and looking for a scratch.

Battary cable rerouting

Does anybody know if Hawaii cars need battary cable rerouting to be fixed, or was it taken care of at quality control, just wanted to know if anyone herd anything from ther dealerships. I'll be checking mine tomorrow. hate to have my car die on me when i'm out. By the way i still can't belive that i finaly got this car after months of waiting. There are about six camaro's on Maui, three black ones, one red tint jewel, one inferno orange at the dealership here on Maui, and my victory red. One thing that i noticed about this car, is that it drives much smoother at higher speeds (50-60 mph) then lower speeds (30-40 mph) have'nt taken it passed 60 yet, but it must be a nice ride passed that. This car holds the road around turns very well. Sorry about the long post, just wanted to give some thoughts about the car.
