Need for mud flaps?

Great car. Loving every minute but have a problem. Have the car only three weeks & there are two long paint missing lines on the fender behind the driver side rear wheel. It is low enough that it couldn't be from hitting something (or being hit). Anyone else experience the need for mud flaps? That is my only thought as to the cause. Thanks. Also any suggestions on good flaps for the 2010 RS?

Funny you should mention this because I just spotted a Camaro with body colored "mud flaps" yesterday and thought to myself that I hadn't seen these before. Apparently they are available from Chevy (see the picture of the "Accessories" placard). They are called Quarter Flares. Car was spotted in Wheeling, Illinois.

I like them and appreciate how much road tar, debris they keep off the rockers and rear flanks.

I dont think they look good, but they look a hell of a lot better than the rear being spotted by years of bugs, tar, salt, etc if your car is a DD.

I have them on my Camaro, they look good, and keep alot of the road junk off my car. They are easy to install too.

I don't like them either but I think they are a necessity, for me at least.

Depends where you live and drive. I would never intall mud flaps on any car I own. Maybe on a jeep. That's just me, no offense to anyone.

i just installed my set tonight on my black ss. they look really good imo. personally i think they add a little character to the bottom of the car (the one area that's a little bland). i like them better than the gm gfx package that's out right now, so thats why i went with them. after driving it for 100miles, i was amazed how much crap got thrown up on the sides of the car. tonight with the splash guards there wasn't anything on the car after about 40 miles of driving.

definitely worth the $165. and they are easy to self-install. no need to pay a dealer $50+ to do it for you.

I installed mine this past weekend....easy to do. Well worth it, IMO to protect the car from rocks and other debris.
