I will be leaving my key fob as it is, If I decide to drive like an idiot with my knees touching the steering column, I should drive into a tree whilst doing it:/

You can also minimized the problem by using two key rings so that the fob is on its own ring, separate from any other attachments.

I was wondering about that, and I'd really like to be able to leave the fob in my pocket when I'm scraping the windows in the morning, and the car is running. I'm curious how close the fob has to be to the ignition for the car to recognize it.

The chip is in the new key that the car uses, the one in the fob is no longer used. Others have found they can leave the fob at home now. That is why the dealer needs the car to do the recall, to program the new keys to work,

Awesome, thanks. Assuming that's the case, on the key ring it goes! I'd rather have the fob with my other keys and use the car key by itself.

Finally got the front plate mount off! Can't believe I almost spent $80 for "bumper plugs" when I went to Autozone and spent $10 for the same thing haha. Also got my Florida tags! So I'm sunshine state official!
