It used to be on the 2010-11's you could do it yourself using the owners manual but after that they got smart and now you have to use a TMPS tool. The dealer can do it or tire shop. But since your in North London I would take it to the dealer. Here's a link to the manuals:http://www.chevrolet.com/owners/chevy-manuals.html#2010 Page 9-62 in the 2010 manual. It might work on yours. Also to Camaro5.

I had an error TMPS on my 2013 SS a couple of weeks ago.
I've now bought a tool which is like an electronic handheld device which transmits a signal to the sensors in the valve stem.

If you can get yourself a tool, you put the car into relearn mode by holding the stalk button in whilst displaying the tire pressure menu on the DIC.
Select yes on the relearn option.

Horn sounds twice to acknowledge relearn mode is active.
You then transmit to the drivers side valve stem, the horn acknowledges again, then do the front passenger side, rear passenger side and finally rear drivers side. The horn will sound twice again at the end of the process.

If you're ever near Birmingham, message me and you can use my tool :-)

Pete, where did you get the tool? Do you have a euro apec or American import. I have been told they are on different frequencies.

I bought the tool from another UK owner, the previous owner had a UK car, my car is a USA import, the tool works on both. It also says proudly made in the USA, so it's not specific to EU. As long as the sensors themselves are genuine GM then it should be fine.

The sensors are unique so yes every time you swap wheels you would need to relearn your car to the new wheel sensors. I guess the way these sensors work with the relearn process involved, ensures that GM are programming the wheels for the intended car and not another car parked next to it, lol.

My tool is made by Orange Electronic, USA.

Give them a call and make sure you're buying the correct one.

Next time I'm in the garage I'll take a photo of it if you want to be sure before your buy.

Another option might be to start another thread outside of the 'UK' area and ask if someone is willing to sell one to you.

Hi guys, I had my wheel refurbished recently and for some reason they couldn't re use the valve. They kept the sensor for me but told me I'd have get a new valve to attach it to.

I called Chevrolet in Cambridge and they said they had to order the sensor and the valve at the same time costing £110. Does anyone know if you can just get the valve and how much it would cost?

Cheers,
Damian.

Probably said it needed replacing coz they'd effed it up. Try a Pm to Jules1200. He's had wheels refurbished. £110 is bad news.

That's a pain in the bum. They did a really excellent job of colour matching the alloy and they've done one of my other cars with no issues at all. Fail! :'(
