OK.... So I have been a good boy all winter. The car has been in a heated garage just waiting to get out.
Did you ever start questioning why they would put heated seats and heated mirrors or a heater for that matter in a car that comes with tires meant for summer only? I admit it, this past week when the weather cleared up but the temperatures were in the low 20s I decided to take it for a little spin. The main roads were clear, the side roads were snow packed. The tires have 14k on them and will need replaced soon anyway so who cares if they crack? How bad could it be if I went a few miles carefully? The news here is that the car did not veer into the ditch on its own (I was being very careful). Note that things are really slippery on cold and snow but not much worse than my 2wd pickup. On the 3 blocks that were snow packed I turned on the PTM mode 1 for wet. OMG it was cool, really did sense the slip of tires and would constrict power easily making the experience fun. Any others using PTM 1 for winter in the Z? Any one else desperate enough to drive this winter that will not end?

I used PTM 1 last year it was cool how it worked. I then went thru each PTM and now I understand what each will do to the car. Driving the car on snowy road is a great way to learn what PTM is all about.

They have heated seats, and a great Heater because 98% of the cars out there are Dailey Drivers. And most of us get rid of those tires and buy all around performance tires.

+1.... Conti DSWs Rule.... But I still don't drive in the snow. Cold weather doesn't stop though. GYS are horrible below temps of 50 or 40 degrees F.

That is my plan once these tires are worn out. Have noticed the heater is better than any I have had before.

I am leaning towards the 315/35ZR20 rear and 285/30ZR20 front but not sure about the 30 front aspect ratio.

It's a car.
Drive it and enjoy it as much as possible. Why take the depreciation hit and save it for the next guy ?

The biggest split I have seen is 315/35 in back and 285/35 in front(Michelin PSS's).
