FYI (+) Side Hot, (-) neg side not past inline remote

Maybe this is just common knowledge, or I'm stupid. I just had to trouble shoot an electrical problem where my LED lights were staying on all the time with the power switch toggle on and with NO effect from the LED remote controller.

Come to find out, the aftermarket remote that you physically wire into the LED circuit actually "changes" the (-) side circuit to provide the LED "effects". For ease of use, I had tied 2 negative branches of two different LED circuits together, thus creating a neg loop and a way to reach ground before running back through the negative side of the inline remote. Thus the LED lights stay on continuously and made it appear that the remote controller didn't function no matter what button you pushed.

For some of you that have intermittent "flashes" from your LED's, this may indicate an "upstream" intermittent accidental grounding/short.

I'm not sure how many people are wiring up their own LED's with remotes, but this was something I didn't expect and thought I'd pass it along.
