Lol, it's only 12.95 and you get a free hat! Seems easy enough to use the tool and do it the right way like Ted suggested.

I went out and tried it. Firstly I say like someone else mentioned, I only needed to loosen the two inner bolts (not all three) then I adjusted the unit to where the set screw just barely made contact with the by pass plate. before I made the adjustment I had 13 psi of boost. (with 2.55 Upper pully). and honestly I didn't think I was going to see any gains because it didn't look like the set screw was holding the plate forward at all, but apparently it was. I got 16 psi out of it!. impressive for such a simple adjustment!. glta.

what does 1 psi of boost translate into hp? I am so impressed with that adjustment, I l feel like I just got more gains out of that adjustment then I did with all the other work I had done to the car wow!.

This formula has been floating around so I'll take mine as an example:

I make about 570 RWHP. Taking this formula:

X = base horsepower

X + ((X* PSI Boost * 6.8) / 100) = Approximate horse power

So my base (NA) is about 405 and I'm running 6 PSI Boost

That would mean:

405 + ((405 * 6 * 6.8)/100) = 570.24

So, if I increased my PSI Boost to say 9, I would be close to this:

405 + ((405 * 9 * 6.8)/100) = So it would be around 652.86

Now there are alot of factors that need to be accounted for (temps, flow, cam, injectors), but this is a 'general' rule and not an absolute. To me, I'd subtract 5% to be safe so I would take into account the other factors...

Do I think this is 100%? No, but it is math and the 'mean' of 6.8 and 100 is part of the formula (can't remember what they represent -- its been a while and I'm old ;o)

ever hear , keep it simple? honestly that was a lot of nothing. also I don't know if it was a typo in your example, but when you increased your factor to "9" in your formula, your hp went down rather then up. typo or miscalculate?. either way, anyone have a simple answer, rather then a bunch of non relevant number and mumbo jumbo?.
