Installed a HUD last night...

I know.. it's not as nice as the 2 SS's have. But I really wanted a HUD. Bought when off of Amazon cheap. Programming it was a little bit of a pain. It works pretty well though. I can't complain.

I am still trying to find someone in Texas to do the factory HUD install on my 2015 1LT/RS. Willing to travel and compensate.

I looked at the ones Gen5 does... Replacing the whole dash does not look fun.

It's not supposed to be centered though. Look at the factory head up units, they're also off center. Still in your field of vision but not in directly your line of sight.

I would not want one in the middle either.. I have had other cars with them and all were to the left of the driver's windshield.

I bought this one... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

A little tough to get the settings like you want them. But visibility is great and I just couldn't afford a built in one like they have on Gen5. Plugs right into the OBD Port.

I don't see the need to replace the dash when you can add a unit like this so easily. It's not very prominent on the dash, being such a small device.

While we're at it, I got this, which synches with my phone: Cobra Electronics iRAD 230 Community-Based Detection System.

And this, which holds my phone: iOttie iTap Magnetic Vent Car Mount for iPhone 6/6 Plus, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5 - Retail Packaging - Black

Very happy with both!

It is directly in between the gauges. The image is not directly in eye level, it is adjustable up and down.
Removing the dash is not hard at all. Us 2010 guys had no choice and I am glad I did it.

My factory one is centered. Has the ability to raise and lower it though...

I use the same Cobra in my car. It pairs to my iPhone and I use a Proclips mount to hold my phone.
