And we have I think three more that are awaiting payment....like they tried to pay but the system is thinking....and thinking...and thinking.... waiting to see what happens there. BUT...

Yes, only a few more spots left and then we'll be shutting it DOWN!!! YEAH!

I'll also be posting up some track rules and more info in the near future such as...

...snell SA2010 approved helmets ONLY. The track DOES sell them for $300 if y'all are interested. They will be checking so you might as well do it right, not worry about getting booted, and pony up for a GOOD helmet that you can wear for years to come.

...NO ALCOHOL at the track...PERIOD. There will be plenty of time to kick back and relax AFTER the session.

TOW HOOKS....don't say I didn't warn you. If you go off the track, it's MUCH easier to get pulled by hooks than under a car where more damage to the facia or rear bumper facia will probably occur. Trust me. We talked about this at length. If you can get tow hooks, cool. If not, don't put yourself in a position...

Extra race insurance. This can be purchased by going through Adam at the NCM museum. Depending on the value of your car and the amount of time you'd be running, it's VERY affordable. AND...it doesn't just cover you in case you fly your car into barrier. It also covers ALL MECHANICAL! If you blow your engine running around the track, IT WILL BE COVERED. For example...one guy got insurance for 40k coverage on a two day weekend pass for $200. Say....do that one day? Maybe a hundred bucks and you are completely covered? Hmm... Yeah. Almost a no brainer for a lot here. Just putting it out there, but if the sh!t hits the fan and you don't have the extra safety of that insurance binder through NCM, again....don't say I didn't warn ya! Just trying to help!

...LONG PANTS and CLOSE TOED SHOES MUST BE WORN!!!

If there's anything else I can think of, I'll bring it up. Trying to hit the main areas here...

But, this will be 15 minute sessions...as many as we can get in. Four sessions will be run. Depending on the # of beginners, we might have it set up where we have beginner with instructors, 2nd round beginner with instructors, intermediate/advanced, instructors only. Don't worry about corner workers/flaggers as they will be provided by the track.

Ther will be a 1 hour lunch break where the track is COLD. NO CARS. We will get a food vendor to come out to take care of us.

Towards the end of the sessions, we will most likely do a parade lap and then a cruise back to the hotel. Parade lap will most likely be paid to the track personnel...be $20...and all profits WILL GO TO CHARITY!!!

Slowly but surely...we are getting there.

Oh...and for those getting in Wed night, we want to get you squared away at the host hotel....which means getting you registered with wristbands, liability waivers signed, and cars tech'ed. The more we can get done on Wed night...the more time you will have to run Thursday. Believe me...if I have to do 75 cars at 8am, don't think we will get on the track within a few minutes....try a few hours! We need to get as many done as early as possible so we can get out there, run our quick classroom session, get lines up, and get DRIVING!!!

D@mn....I'm getting excited....

Are you absolutely sure SA2005 are not allowed?
Helmets with the SA2005 were manufactured, and certified, through March, 2012.

I am positive there are other track events being held at NCM through out this year that are allowing the SA2005 helmets.

The SA2015 helmets start coming out October 1, this year. I am really hoping to wait and buy a SA2015 and not buy a SA2010. I don't want to spend $350+ on an old standard.

As of TODAY, 2005's are approved. So yes, you are correct. HOWEVER....the track told me that as the new 2015's are coming out, in a few months, the 2005's will be outdated and no longer acceptable. He said maybe 3 to 4 months. March...April, May, June, July...cutting it kind of close. I'm going to say this is a very iffy situation and they could quite possibly...very likely....allow the 2005's BUT...I am not the end all be all of the rules. They are. If they decide a week out to go 2010...ouch. But their call. We will most definitely keep you informed of this as well. Personally....I want to buy a 2015 as SOON as they come out.

M stands for motorcycle. It must be a SA. If Mike wants to override that, then by all means. But motorcycle helmets do not offer the same protective materials as auto helmets. Think flame retardant materials....they don't have those in motorcycles because they don't need them.

That's the info I was able to dug up:

"Helmet Expiration Dates
Many times the question comes up regarding the Expiration Date in helmets. The NJSP will be following the NHRA Snell Expiration Dates as listed in the 2010 NHRA Rulebook:

Snell 2000 Expires 1/1/2012
Snell 2005 Expires 1/1/2017
Snell 2010 Expires 1/1/2022

Some helmet manufactures are now only putting just a tag with the manufactured date inside the helmet. The same will apply to these helmets, 12 years from the date on the manufactures tag inside the helmet. Basically, the rule of thumb is 12 years on a Snell rated helmet (UNLESS IT APPEARS DAMAGED)

So I take that your SA2005 is good for another 2 years. Base on that info I ordered a custom paint SA2010 helmet.

That got me worried, so I hunt down the official NHRA rule book, and sure enough it says SA2005 good until 2017, SA2010 until 2022.

Unless the track doesn't follow NHRA regulations, then

Well why would they tell me only a few more months? I'll email our track guy and pass this along. See what he says.

I have no idea, but if I had the SA2005 helmet I would print it the NHRA regulations and bring with me just in case, the very least the person can have a valid argument.

At least one in this list will miss out. I don't think people thought was going to sell this quick, but I was like a Domino effect, people be like: paid order#7xx, then another, and another...it snowballed it. lol

Yep. Very valid. I just emailed them and attached that pic asking. We'll see what they day. Don't think there's any arguing it.

Yeah I learned from my mistake, Wannagofast, I saw the sign up before going to work, but I was kind of running late, and it was for 150 cars, so I was like I do it when I came back...nope..sold out in less than 3 hours.

I guess it's time to shop for a helmet again. I only used it twice. Oh well.
