I did not do Expel. I did plasti-dip it in clear with glossifier and it looked terrible. I peeled it all off. I'm getting tint later this week, I'll ask them if they can clear the bottom with film.

Looks awesome man! ExPel is clear film right? I was thinking of having them all clear coated though. I know I want protection up front for sure.

No I just saw it on the net somewhere. Haven't looked into it too much yet. The CF makes anything plastic, that's left, look bad. I was thinking the grill would have to go.

I agree, the pieces look really awesome. I do have some issues on how the structure of the diffuser was put together. When I got it, it was way off. It wasn't a direct replacement and had to be trimmed a lot. Tabs broke and were different on each side. I can post some pics. Nathan was great though, working to help me get it fitted right with a how to video he sent me. I've installed stuff like this before and realize it needs some trimming but it was a lot. Not an easy install at all. You want to have a pro do it or if you have a lot of experience. This is not for a novice.

Is it more rigid in the middle than the stock plastic one?

The whole thing is very rigid. It'll flex a little but bend it too far and it'll crack. It's rigid and a bit fragile.

True fact for sure. I initially took my parts to the body shop I normally use, they did an excellent job on painting my rockers but half assed install of them and the rear splitter. Most likely due to the trimming which they were apparently reluctant to do so they just mounted the parts. I ended up taking it to Seibon who re-installed the pieces correctly. These are not direct bolt on parts!

This is good information. Thank you for posting and your honest experience with the install. I was considering these pieces but wanted a more direct fit DIY install. I'm far from a novice but not a body man or fabricator by any means. Your install looks amazing and happy it all worked out for you.

THanks Nathan for all your help and putting this group buy together. I know it was a lot of work and probably continues to be a lot of work. Seibon and Vis are the two places I've gotten high quality carbon from; even gelcoat, exact dimensions, even carbon mesh under the gelcoat. When you get these complicated pieces that have a lot of twists and turns, it gets difficult to have it exact. To Seibons credit the overall dimensions were perfect. I've had pieces that were too short and you can't trim something too short. . Hoods, fenders and wings are easier pieces to get exact. Let me know when you see the fog light pods and front coming!
