I'd much rather be driving a 1966 Ford GT40 MKII as a daily driver.

But my 2012 LS3 Camaro has been a good and reliable daily driver since I bought it in June 2012. I drive it 365 days a year and I have never had a problem (that wasn't due to a bad wheel balance, that is) aside from my clutch pedal squeaks every now and again.

I turned 40K miles last week.

I've been driving my SS as a DD since I picked it up in November. 7k miles in that time and 70 miles of mostly highway daily commute. No issues at all. MPG dropped to 19-20 combined in the cold weather months but has come up to 21-23 now that it is warming up.

DD'd mine for about 6 months. Put 9k miles on it. Proceeded to drive my wife's SUV since November, and since then I have put another 2k on the Camaro in 4 months. No worries. All my experience is with an L99.
"How reliable has the SS been for you when using it everyday? No major issues, but I mod mine... so random/fluke CELs come and go. Nothing major.

How much do you like using it everyday? It was a lot of fun, even before being tuned (as long as I had the Range V8), but since the tune? Night and day difference. I preach it.

Is is enjoyable or would you rather use something else for a daily car given the chance? When it snowed, and snowed a lot, I feared driving it. Not because of my tires. I had new all seasons put in the rear, and figured I would survive until this spring when I replaced the fronts. But that wasn't what the fear was from - its from people in Jersey who can't drive when it snows. So, I drove my wife's SUV. And for a short while, it made me want something AWD with a ton of power. I coveted WK1 and WK2 SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokees for a month or so. Glad the weather is improving, because now that lust is fading, and windows open/sunroof open lets me listen to my engine that more.

Anything I should know and be aware of when using a 5th gen Camaro on a daily basis. I'm use to crappy mpg already from my Z28 but I feel its worth it owning one of these cars. Gas will be better than the 5.0/5.7L in the 3rd gen Camaro you have. Then again, gas mileage, IMO, is all in self-control.

Mine is a semi dd. I drive it 2-3 days each week. Try not too but to address your other question, it's so much fun that I can't help but to drive it to work. I drive 40+ miles one way to work and it's extremely comfy compared to my nbs tahoe. The only thing that keeps me from driving it every single day is the 80 mile round trip commute

Used mine as a DD until last year, I got something to drive in the winter. It is a dream to drive and so much fun. Get a set of wheels and tires for the winter. The only thing you need to know is that you will spend as much on Mods as you do in anything else. Trust me you will want to make it yours. That's half the fun of having a Camaro!

Go for it. It's a great car. I've had a 3rd Gen too, and now a 5th and this one is by far superb. The only negative thing I can say is the P-Zeros suck as a DD tire for someone living up north. They are great tires when it is nice outside, but when it rains or snows they are awful. Be prepared to upgrade them asap, or drive careful when it's wet.

I'm still don't understand why anyone would think a 5th gen as a DD would be an issue. It's a Camaro folks! That's it.
Sorry to disappoint!

Been daily driving mine for almost 5 years, around 70k miles. No complaints other than I can't go off-road anymore, which sucks. Still, it's a very nice DD. Has all the creature comforts that I deem necessary, good power, looks great, drives great.

Throw some drop springs and sway bars in it pronto though.

Great every day driver, 6 months out of the year. To use in cold weather, replace the P Zeros with something appropriate.
