I love the tires you sold me! We are expecting 8-12" tomorrow - tuesday. I've been out in 6" with no issues, anything else and I stay home because I can run my entire office from home!

Hey Rudy. Is there risk in driving Blizzaks for a few weeks in mid 40 - 50 degree temps? The weather forecast here is looking like winter is pretty much over, but I don't want to risk it and take the winter tires off yet. I also don't want to wear my winter tires as they need to last me another winter, and I'd like to get a few bucks when I sell them and get rid of the car.

I can tell you from experience...no.

They will be fine, the temp usually fluctuates a lot this time of year and mine came through last winter/spring with minimal wear and looked almost new going back on this year.

I take mine off the first week in April, although last year I got caught out by a freak snowstorm after the change over.

Did that ever suck:(

Don't worry about it they will be fine. I am betting will get one more snow. I would leave them on until the first week of April if were me unless you have all season tires in which case you could probably take them off sooner.

Can anyone explain what the wheel spacer thing is that comes with aftermarket wheels. Or even better have a picture of what they look like. Just had my summer tire and wheel set put back on and am having some vibration.

This is a good question for Rudy@Tirerack since that is where my winter setup came from.

Just throwing this out there, not sure if this is the "wheel spacer thing" you're talking about, but my winter wheels came with wheel centering rings (AKA hub centric rings). They make the wheel seat properly on the hub. My rings are supposed to be held in place (on the wheel) by a clip, which is nothing more than a piece of wire bent in a circle, that is held into the wheel by spring tension. It's not a real secure fastening method IMO.
Anyhow, my point here is; the first time I took off my winter wheels, after a full winter season, those rings stayed on my hubs when the wheels came off. There was enough rust to make it look like they belonged there. I only knew they had to come off because I installed them in the first place. They were a bit of a hassle to get off because of the rust/corrosion. They were corroded to the hub pretty tight. I've read stories about folks not realizing they were NOT part of the hub, and mistakenly leaving them in place. However, they MUST come off for your stock/summer wheels to seat properly. Leaving those rings on the hub, and bolting on your stock wheels will result in a bad install, and most likely result in vibrations.
This past season, I used anti-seize on the hubs and rings when I installed my winter wheels. I'm hoping that solves the rust/corrosion problem, but I won't know till I swap my wheels, which I'll probably be doing in the next week or two. When I swap the wheels, I'll snap some photos and get them to you.

Look inside the hubs of your winter wheels. They should either still be in the wheels or your tire changer made a big boo-boo that you need to get corrected immediately. I do my own wheel changes and always take the spacers out so I can clean and inspect them. They are still on my car or I'd post a pic for you. They are little plastic rings that fit inside the hubs.

Yeah hub centric rings are what I meant. So I see the bent wire thing inside all four wheels. So that's ok. Guess I just need the summer tires rebalanced.
These are the parts correct.

I didnt have the initially rebalanced because I had only put 3000 miles on them before swaping out to my winter set up.

Correct. They are hub-centric rings. Your factory wheels would not need them.

Hello sorry if this was brought up previously but I couldn't find it:

17" wheels(17-7) at a +40 to 45 offset with a tire of 235/65R17 Blizzak should be fine right? Bolt patern of 5-120. Compared to stock would they sit vertically flush with the wheel well(would not want them inside the wheel well)

Above values are from Tire racks online builder.

If you want them to be closer to flush I would look for a 17x8 ET30 range.

Anyone know where you can get the little wire/spring steel retainers that are supposed to keep the hubcentric rings in the wheel?
