Tubes

Has anyone used inner tubes In their M/T D/R at the track ? Any plus or minus doing this ?

I haven't run tubes in race tires for over 25 years (even when the manufacturer recommends). A long time ago, an old timer said to wipe the inside of the new tire with green Palmolive dishwashing detergent and mount. Been doing it every since, with very little, if any air PSI loss.

Tubes make heat, have a better chance of being pinched during install, harder to repair when you do get a hole in them and slow 60's a tad. I see no reason to use tubes, except to put more $'s in the tire guys pocket. IMHO
