ok we heard alot about this topic but nothing has been confirmed or solve.

heres what i know for a fact.

my cuz has a 2ss rs l99 paid $45k his best times was a 9.25 78mph 1/8 with no wheel spin.

vs

my brother ran is on the same track and pulled a 8.9 at 83mph he drives a 2006 mustang gt price 10K ( used ) with a cai ( thats all ).

camaro runs a 0 - 60 in 5.6 vs 5.0 for the mustang.

if the camaro would run as advertise it should do 60 in 4.6 witch will murder the mustang gt but this one is no where near.

there are tons of videos on youtube l99 doing runs and there all the same the six speed manual is a different story.

the new 2010 mustang gt premium is 30k 0-60 4.9 and 13.5 1/4
the new 2010 camaro 2ss a-6trans is 36k 0-60 4.6 and 13.0 1/4

this is my point the extra .5 on the mustang is huge dont get me wrong but this rule applys with the l99 camaro as well.

if the l99s are runing slower then advertise witch i have witness this in person and have seen videos all over the web that supports this we shoudnt under estimate the mustang gt.

I ORDERD A 2SS RS L99 AND MY BRO CANT WAIT SO HE CAN BEAT MY ASS AT THE TRACK AND IM SCARED

and your right the l99 camaros are slow but dont mess with the six speed manuals
does thing are quick.

I got one and it was soooooo slow. Took it to the dealer and GM refused to fix it and said there was nothing wrong with it. I sold it and bought another one. The second one is running great, not as advertised but I am getting low 5 second 0 to 60 times. The L99 has been re-named to PL99 for "Pot Luck" You just never know if your going to get a normal one or a dog.

friday night i took my 2ss l99 out, and did one run. heatsoaked to death, hot as hell out,. humid as can be. thunderstorms close.
14.4@100.08 elevation 2200 ft, but i bet corrected, it was 9000 ft.

i did not use competition mode or turn it all off. ran it as you drive it. crappy baseline.
itll make the first modded run look like im a hero.

B.S. Mine's quick as can be! A conclusion that "l99 camaros are slow" based on an insignificant sample size under uncontrolled conditions is poor test methodology and poor statistics.

glad all you guys think they are so slow, I wish I would run into some people around here who think so, maybe a friendly monetary wager would solve the debate.................

i doubt your testing it under the 100% optimal conditions that GM did... and i also have a feeling that the "slow" l99s might not of all been broken in 100% correctly to ensure a complete ring seal as it should be

Mine must be a fast one. I kick her down and it takes off like a bat out of hell. My 26 year old son said holy crap this thing moves out. I did not baby her at all. Even kicked her down a couple times on the way home from picking her up. I've had a 68 Camaro and a 73 Hurst Olds with a 455 in it. This Camaro has some balls.

I have a 2SS L99 and in the past two days, I've blown away a 2010 Mustang GT ( Auto ) ... Wasn't even Close ! ...

and a 2009 Challenger R/T ( Manual ) so SLOW mine is NOT !

Got mine on Aug 19th, so if there was a problem.... I'd say GM has solved it !

You must be mistaken - the GTs have a problem with the V6 cars & the SS's will just wipe out all those GTs. If you did some engine work and mods you stand a better chance but both in stock form each and every SS will wipe out those GTs.
