Ignition coils

I have to change 2 ignition coils and was wondering if there's anything I should know before I attempt it. How do I know which cylinder goes to which ingnition coil. Would I need to disconnect the battery? Any help would be great thanks

I've never disconnected the battery when taking apart the coils and plugs (prob should) but never had any problems. Cylinder 1-3-5 and on the pass side of the car and 2-4-6 are on the driver side....

Also you will have to remove the intake manifold

Each coil sits right on top of the spark plug. I've never had to remove the intake to access mine.

WRONG!! You just need a 10mm socket. Unplug the coil from the wire, slide it out, slide the new one in, replug the wires and tighten the 10mm bolt. You might have to turn the coil pack to the left or right to get it around the tubes and manifold. I replaced 4 over the Winter, total of 7 since I've had my car. BTW AMAZON.com sells them for $24 to $30 each, the dealer wants $90 and any Autoparts store wants about $50. I keep two spares in my trunk along with a serpantine belt $16 on AMAZON.

Eddie and vent are correct, no need in removing intake.

Were you also having misfiring issues or what caused you to replace them?

Yes, this Winter was tough, I replaced 4 of them at different times and different cylinders. I would clear the code and if it came back within a few hours, i knew that the coil was bad.... A new one would solve the problem. I haven't needed a new one since February
