Being sarcastic? He said the wheels too, was just asking if overall he was going for the 1LE look.

I mean I don't mind if he says it. I have plenty of reasons for getting an SS over a ZL1 but I love the look of a ZL1. So yes, I'm doing my best to replicate the look for the ZL1 on my SS.

What are your reasons for getting an SS over a ZL1? Just curious.

Sorry to jump in on this, but im in the process of dipping my interior now and moving to exterior when it warms up a bit. Will car wax do anything to the plasti dip?

Car wax under dip with cause it not to adhere correctly, on top of dip is just fine tho, if you already have wax on your car you will want to use isopropyl alcohol or a degreaser

One, admittedly I've never been taught how to drive a stick and as "unmanly" as it sounds, have no desire to learn. Two, I sit in traffic an hour a day each way, and had no desire to own a stick in said situation. Three, the 1LE was a bit out of my price range. And last but not least, a 1LE would have me in jail for speeding.

I drive my SS slower than any other car I've ever owned, so there was really no sense in buying something with even MORE horsepower than the SS. But I think the 1LE look as absolutely PERFECT for the Camaro.

Those are all pretty good reasons.

Spend the extra time masking off properly.

sounds like a true opinion preference to me. i say leave it the way it is. would be different if you were dipping the etire car but in the end it is your ride. remember you can always peel it off if you dont like it dipped as well.

Dont be in a rush to see the coats built up. Lightly dust each coat on at a time. Give 15 min between coats. The first coat or two will not look like much was accomplished. By coat 4 you will be about done. Add one or two more to make it easier to peel when you are done with it

Use Turtle Ice spray wax over the dip when done.

But, the 1LE does not have any more HP than an SS>

For the wheels, I know the place I'm having it done said they do 5 full coats plus clear up to whatever shine you want. 5 coats seems to be the number most places use.
