If the dealer told you it's backing itself off and not holding an adjustment, clearly there's something wrong with it. Auto adjusters tighten adjustment as needed to take up slack from wear, they do not loosen themselves.

So either they lied to you and didn't actually do anything, or there's something wrong with it. Either way, I wouldn't trust that brake until you get it fixed.

Our oil comes from a hose that dangles from the ceiling, I once poured 7 quarts into a northstar engine before I realized the drain plug was still out. I once got flustered and started an engine on a Lumina without putting oil in it first (only for about ~3 seconds).

And I once saw a firebird get destroyed on a lift when a guy tried being slick and only put one of the four arms behind the front tire and lifted it, tearing the fender off the car and bending the body so the doors would not open. (the lift button was on the other side so he couldn't see it happening)

Stay away from anything "discount", I can give you 4 new tires and oil change in less time than it takes you to pay for it at the register (really I can!)
Man, ain't that the truth! I worked at a Sears Auto, WAY back in the day. It was similar.

Yep happened to me with Walmart once PS never have them touch any car. They left my oil cap off on my Durango years ago and I just hapeened to drive it 600 miles that day , Turned in to a prove it deal , Junked the vehicle and learned my lesson to always before you drive off open the hood and check the oil , then check the oil when filling it with gas , 99% of the time it is fine but once in a while with these V6's they burn oil .

Leaving your oil cap off compelled you to junk the vehicle?

With a manual adjuster you have to remove the drum.

I have not had any need to work on my parking brakes so I'm not sure.
I know they are small drum brakes inside the rotor. And, being parking brakes, you should be stopped before applying them so there should never be any wear on the pads. Which would negate the need for a self-adjuster.

What is left is the actuator. The handle and the cable. Most likely the cable.

But I am not there to look.

Right. Something is broken or sticking. Now you need to carry a bundle of firewood to chock your wheels.

Can you try a different dealer? Any GM.
Or PM Jasmine.

yeah I've seen conflicting reports on whether its self adjusting or not also, haven't had mine apart to confirm one way or the other. I guess I could look it up in the service manual and see what it has to say.

Found a place in Grapevine few years back for oil changes called Mustang Elite, they are awesome. Great service, they seem to really love the cars that regularly come in. I noticed some of the local Lambo and Ferrari owners took their cars there, figured my relatively cheap and plodding Camaro would be in good hands. The Mustang doesn't refer to Ford's by the way, it is the local high school's mascot, Grapevine Mustangs.

I could see that making a mess due to some splatter, but I don't see how you'd lose enough oil out the top to "fry the engine"?

Try It , Take your cap off and drive 600 miles with a old tired engine . Then you will see
And actually let me clarify it didnt actually fry the engine but all the seals were shot , it burned a quart of oil like every 300 miles or something like that this was like 15 years ago . It was so bad that it was time to let it go . But the whole moral of this story is the OP will have a very hard time proving that it was the dealers fault , as least thats the way it went with Walmart they Lawyered up and it would of been way too much of a pain in the ass to try to recoup what had been done .

The engine fried from leaving the cap off? Wow. There must have been oil everywhere.

Hmm, maybe its something with the design of the Durango's valve covers or oil cap, I just don't see a GM small block splashing that much oil out a 1 1/2" hole.

Surely that put off a heck of a burnt oil smell over those 600 miles?

As a young person, changed oil in my family's 1986 SS Monte Carlo. Washed her and waxed her, and Mom, Dad and I went on our family vacation from Northern Illinois to Daytona Beach, FL (about 1100 miles). When we got there, I thought I faintly smelled oil so I looked under the hood. Did not see anything but noticed an indentation in the hood pad, and saw the valve cover cap sitting on the top of the air cleaner. Checked oil, had not lost much, and we drove that car more a few more years with no issues. Unrelated, but we stuck a ZZ3 crate motor in it in the early 1990's and had a blast with that car.
