The SS1 will idle lower, it is lopey, but not radical.

We now use Larry Meaux and BES for head porting since my last post.

Those guys are some of the best in the business. I am suprised Larry is doing it as he is usually pretty well backlogged. Now if he has a CNC machine program setup that is another story.

I don't mean to bump this thing all over again.

But since this topic was discussed, with this cam and the SS2 I understand BOTH are good for driveability and this customer of yours is about 10k more miles than what I have.

My main concern is reliability, with the SS2 compared to this cam, would you really be for, or against an SS2 for someone who's just 100% concerned with reliability at this point?

Because like your customer, I have high mileage and don't want anything failing on me because of this cam, since it is a DD and all.

I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with Rhino79 today and I've decided to get this came for my daily driver. Rhino went above and beyond answering any questions i had. Gonna place my order next week more than likely.

Ryan, would you keep the VVT on a low lash solid roller or go with a 3-bolt?

On tighter converter apps (4000s and below) I would stay vvt. My llsr that was in my car was vvt. New setup is non vvt, but I have a converter that is flashing 5300 and also we are limited to about .680 lift on the vvt cores. My new cam is .731.

Those are great numbers, especially without air and exhaust. Most of the baby vvt cams are rated at about ~30rwhp with supporting mods. Sounds like it would be a California compliant cam since we have no more sniffer tests.

My bottoms end is still stock yes. 9.90s are gonna be extremely hard. But I think with perfect weather I may get lucky.

Really torn between the SSI and SSII.

Any big power difference? Looking to be headers, tune, intake (your mod), etc. would love to get Clse to the 450-460RW. I baselined 355 now with CAI, axle back and x pipe versus resonator. L99.
