Chit happens

Well i have a 21 year old who's driven my car.He know's me very well.My 16 year oldNo license yet.But he has an insane need for speed.I've watched him on his dirt bike .He wants to drive drag bikes Mom is dead set against this. But as the saying goes chit happens.I've tried my best to teach them that public roads are not the place for racing. We can only teach them right from wrong.daddy let him drive.daddy lives with his sons mistake. We all learn from our mistakes. It sucks when we pay for someone else's mistake.

Kid should have hopped up on the roof, looked out over the skid marks and said: "123 yards!" a la Clark Griswold after jumping the Wagonqueen Family Truckster!

Seriously, beyond the asshattery of the kid's driving (Surprise! IT HOOKED UP IN THIRD GEAR WITH YOUR FOOT TO THE FIREWALL! HOLD ON!)...I blame daddy for not having the temptress locked up and the keys in a vault. Darwin-ists are just pissed the guy's dad's hobbies were not guns and land mines!

I am 16 and I would never be this stupid. You can get yourself, along with other people killed. Thats why i'm being trusted with an 2010 camaro in a few weeks. I absolutely HATE stupid teens who race and do stuff like this. They give all of us teens a bad name, when in reality, not all of us are that dumb.

In reality the idiots who treat their dad's muscle car like a toy are in the minority. Sadly, since that's all we see about in the news it looks like a bigger problem than it really is. Yes, there are stupid kids that should not be allowed behind the wheel of a Prius, let alone a 400HP Camaro but there are far more who can handle the responsibility. To pass a summary judgment on all kids because of the mistakes of a few is short-sighted and, no offense, stupid.
i get pissed when people tell me the same thing about "people my age" but most people dont believe me when i tell them my age, i keep getting mistaken for late 20's or 30's... its kinda creepy

but in my opinion new drivers should not have a car like this, is asking for trouble, but there are responsible young drivers out there, but if i had a kid and they asked for this car i would just say no, cause of the things my friends and i did lol

Well I agree that the kid shouldn't have been driving the car if he didn't know how to handle the power. Not all teenagers cant drive and are idiots. But there always going to be a couple that ruin their rep. My dad trusted me to drive my '67 Camaro when I turned 16. We had rebuilt it together starting when I was 13. I learned to appreciate the car and know what it can do. Maybe the kids old man should have given him a one-on-one with the car before stuff like this happens. Just a thought.

We'll see how long that attitude lasts... I had a '96 Camaro when I was 18, and I slammed it into a curb. I was lucky, there was very little damage aside from the wheels, all of which was fixable, but I'm sure you grasp my point. The testosterone that emanates from these cars can have an effect on ANYONE, and this is why we love them- because of how they make you feel when you're behind the wheel. Just beware- it doesn't matter who you are, the instant you get comfortable, and show off even the slightest little bit, it's over. I wouldn't have let MYSELF drive a car like this '69, or even a 2010 when I was a teenager. No joke.
