hey guys does anyone know anyone in our area that knows how to "reindex" or "time" bushings? Im lowered on coilovers and the rear of the car rides like crap and I've read all over the forums thats its important to do. I've called many shops and no one knows what it is or what to do. I would do it myself but i can't get in there. hopefully someone has a clue? thanks!

Call the company who makes the coilovers and talk to thier tech department.

Personally i don't like coilovers, they always seem to ride like crap. They are designed to adjust each corner of the car for cornering for autocross/road course racing. Street cars should use standard/performance shocks and struts or air ride.

My opinion take it as you will. good luck, first step is calling the tech department.

I brought this with me because most ordinary shops have no idea what they are doing

https://www.wretched.co/images/PDF/C...20Timing-1.pdf

In fact the last time I brought mine in, the guy was messing with adjusting the rear toe for a good 5 min (I didn't realize he was going for toe at the moment). He gets frustrated and I was standing outside watching. He then asks who did all this work under here, referring to all the BMR suspension parts. I tell him I did. He asks if I'm a mechanic, I respond no. He runs inside and gets the shop manager, who I had become friendly with. The guy comes out and shows the shop manager that "this guy" must have done something wrong, I can't get it in spec. By now, I've looked at the machine and see he was trying to adjust the toe. I say to him, are you trying to adjust the toe? He says yeah!... I said, well then you might want to stop turning the concentric for the camber and come over here and adjust the toe rods..... Shop manager laughed.

Well the question is does the car just ride like crap as OP stated above or is the alignment out and the tires wearing funny?

VIC your not a mechanic? that's news to me

Valid, and possibly one or the other, or both. I know when I went to coils from springs and raised the height, when they timed the bushings then, the car settled a bit more. Those bushings, if not timed, will themselves act like a second set of springs acting against the suspension, so they can have an effect on the ride. From there, its a matter of dialing in the dampeners or, in my pain in the @ss case, the spring rates since no one makes springs for the vert. So from my 2 cents, time the bushings first since its a prerequisite, then move to dampening settings/ride height for ride preference. Too low on the ride height and you're bottoming and getting a bad ride, which is also similar to having too much dampening, which doesn't allow the suspension to move as much. This is why coilovers can be a pain.

I'm still dealing with slow movement bottoming in the rear on mine. Fast bumps, the dampeners control but on slow rolling bumps, its more a spring rate issue... one day I'll get it right or someone will finally release a set specific to the vert and I can just copy the rates they are using

Take my comments with a grain of salt because by the time I have the free time to read up on stuff, I'm generally in an altered state of mind...
