New ZL1/CTS-V Brake Rotor Install Question
So I received my new ZL1/CTS-V brake rotors (ordered them from Amazon) and they are very "silver" in color like there is a coating of some kind on them. Is there any sort of cleaning procedure I should use when installing them other than spraying them down good with brake parts cleaner and making sure all mfg oils are wiped off?
Thanks in advance for any help/experience anyone can provide.

Its not a coating, its a shot peen procedure used to stress relieve the rotor, kind of like sand blasting. Like you said just clean them with brake cleaner and your good to go.

It is a coating/paint to prevent rust when they are sitting on shelves at dealers or on cars at dealer lots. All rotors have them when new, will come right off. Rotors do not get shot peened.

They didn't look shot peened to me since I couldn't see any "dimples" or any other evidence of being peened. But I'm not an expert in shot peening so I figured they must be really really small pieces being used in the shot peening process. But it did look more like a coating to me than shot peening.

+1, it's just a coat to prevent rusting so the new car buyers don't freak out. Since it has to come on new cars with that coat, it is designed to not need washing, unlike my StopTech rotors' coating.

Actually you dont want to remove the paint, some of it is on the OD and vanes so those dont rust and it can stay there for a while since those areas are not in contact. Seriously dont waste ur time with anything but just installing them and driving your car. Has no impact on your brakes.

Nick s- Question, did you swap calipers or are you still using the stock 1le calipers with the ZL-1/CTS-V?

As Tyler indicates above it's not possible to run the rotors without the calipers. The rotors are a larger diameter so your stock caliper would not clear the larger rotor.
