This never happened to me but I did pull the hood release on accident once. That was a surprise

Happened to me too. Until...

Twice or three times a week this would happen. I was convinced it was my fob.

Nope.

Two causes on my car:

1) the wash bucket I had in the trunk could slide and strike the in-trunk emergency release. I secured the bucket. Still happened but not as frequently.

2) then I noticed that in the trunklid liner, there are slots for the pull handle that acts as the emergency trunk release. I slid the handle into the slots. Has not happened since. That was summer 2014. The handle itself was doing it, if I hit a bump and it is free hanging, it has enough mass to trigger the release.

Yeahh same here happened alot when I first got my car never knew why usually in the mornings tho. One time while I was working out at the gym I left my wallet in my trunk closed it came back out and it was open and no wallet. No damage to the trunk so I assume it opened and someone saw it and helped themselves.

Has been happening to me regularly since 2013. I'd say 3x/week easily.

Probably the keyfob but I never really troubleshot it.

it happens to me quite a bit too. I don't really keep anything in the trunk but it's annoying.

It seems to happen more now that the fob is five-years-old as opposed to when the car was newer. I've been thinking about just replacing the fob, it's cheaper than buying a new car.

Mine did it a few times. It was a bad trunk latch. Had it replaced under warranty.
