Throwout bearing! HELP

I've been feeling it for a while, the clutch pedal is had some play (vibration) in it, and when turning off the car I can feel the clutch pedal shaking and a audible noise. Now it is making a loud clanking sound at certain rpm's, the throwout bearing has obviously failed. I am aware that the slave cylinder assembly comes with a new throwout bearing and it is all in one piece, but it is $280 WOW!!.. so anyone got a clue as to the shaft diameter and what not and where I can get the Throwout bearing by itself.

Thanks so much in advance👌👍

2012 ls Camaro relatively stock, 53k

I have access to a full hydraulic lift, don't mind doing the labor twice, I'm 21 years old don't really feel like dropping $800 even though I would love a new clutch and pressure plate, I don't really care for the feeling of a lightweight flywheel so that's something I would skip. But like I was saying cost, I'm sure the bearing couldn't be any more than 40-50$...?

Does anyone have the part number on the release bearing or as to what manufacture I can start getting ideas from. I feel like I'm going to further damage parts if it doesn't get replaced relatively soon. And I would leg to stay as far away from replacing the entire slave like I said. Hopefully replace it with something a little beefier.

Gotta love when a 21 year old is turning down sound advise from someone older and wiser.

Anyway, you're going to be running into more problems once you fix that throw out bearing. Just take into consideration what other part may have gotten damaged from one part not being completely functional.

Take it to the dealership and get it replaced under warranty.
It should be covered.

You may be correct, but in the past I have not heard of them repairing any "consumable" parts in the clutch. Mostly due to the abuse they can be exposed to...not that any member here would be doing burnouts or racing or anything like that...

As long as your under powertrain warranty, you'll have that replaced. My clutch constantly stuck, and they replaced whole slave cyl, clutch plate, and resurfaced flywheel.

IDK, when I was a broke azz 21 year old, I probably would just replace the bearing too. Time is money and when your 21 time is not as expensive.

I will go in the dealer, I assumed it was a wearable item an non repairable, and sound advice is 280$ for a part that is going to fail again. From what I've read on the fourm this is a common issue and had ruined peoples clutches and caused breaks to fail due to lack of break fluid. Im more looking for a fix, not a bandaid that will fail in another 30k and if the only fix is replacing, I would like to replace the cheapest wearable part AKA the plastic sleeve and the bearing.....
