Pay or Try myself, opinions??

I just got my ZL1 bumper conversion painted, the question is, do I drop my car off for them to put it on for $260+tax or try to put it on with some friends?? I hear its not that difficult but want it done correctly. Just looking for some opinions.. thanks!

Note: I have zero experience with body work but I don't mind trying new things!

It's SOOO easy. Don't pay to have it put on, you can do it. I've taken mine off like 100 times, bet I could do it with my eyes closed by now ...lol... Just get a friend to help you hold one side. I've taken it off and put it back on myself, but it's definitely easier to do with help.

Do it yourself. Especially if you have friends helping. I did mine alone with basic tools. It's easier if you take off the wheels to access the bolts from the wheel well. It will line up itself when you bolt it down. I say do it yourself unless you have 300 to burn.

Yea I did it by myself without taking wheel off. First time was an extreme pain because of a bolt but now I can prob do it a lot easier. There is a video that shows how to take it off exactly

It is so easy - once you do it once, you can do it in your sleep. Bolts along the top. two bolts underneath, take the wheels off or turn them to gain access to undo the black fenderwell so you can see where 3 bolts are located attaching it to the front and there is one bolt right beside the marker light. The light harness unplugs and then you just gently pull it out. Give it a shot - you have a new one to put on - wont harm much.

Don't forget you'll need to trim the plastic piece behind bottom grill for zl1 bumper to fit right. Other then that it's simple bolt off old and bolt on new.

Im so jealous!

I want a ZL1 bumper really bad, but WOW they are expensive! Worth it for sure, but its a tough price to get over.

Post some pics when you are done, I am sure it is going to look amazing!

Pics will be coming! And believe me I would not pay full price for the conversion, someone hit me and I used the insurance money!

Don't even need a friend, it can easily be done by yourself. I've removed mine a ton of times. Helpful tip, take out the wheel wells, it makes reaching the bolts way up at the top much easier.
