Very disappointing news today from Chevrolet regarding the 2014 Z/28 owner certificate.

Our 2014 models will be orphans. While the corporate decision was made to authenticate the 2015 models it appears the decision makers did not consider the initial run of 2014 models to be worthy of the same program.

Gary at the Chevrolet customer service center has been working on this for us and there are managers involved in moving this up the ladder to the appropriate people, but the word is that "there is currently no program" in place to document the 2014 model.

Reading into the terminology, it screams of a bogged down bureaucracy full of red tape. Clearly the person responsible for the 2015 certificate program is NOT a car guy.

Too bad because this is a great car and the engineering team did a terrific job. There is an article on Jolopnik that speculates on the long term collector value of the the top 10 new model cars you can by today and the Z/28 logs in at 4th. Read about it here: http://jalopnik.com/ten-new-cars-tha...n-y-1697714136

I will keep working on this until we can reach the decision makers desk to get this sorted.

Thanks for your efforts! One thing that makes this worse is that many of us placed orders or deposits immediately after the car was announced. It was an agonizingly long wait for the cars to be built. Then, Chevy had the issue of transport -- the backup with limited railcar availability led them to ship them by truck. However, the rail issue meant that transporters were in tight supply, and many cars just sat -- for weeks -- until they were shipped. At that point there was ZERO communication on ETA; for many of us the only communication from our dealers was, "Guess what -- your car just showed up!".

Given this, the failure to start issuing the Certificates with 2014 owners is pretty galling. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that this is corrected soon. If not, I will declare this to be an EPIC

I hear you. BTW, I had a white car that was delivered by rail car and it took me 3 days to get the rusting metallic splinters out of the paint.

I am going to stay on it until we have a definitive NO or go ahead.

Wow, your summary of experiences from last year really brought back bad memories of exactly what happened to me. I also applaud the efforts, even though the result is what I expected based on Chevy's past behavior. If you think about it, if the printing and postage is $20 per unit, at a little over 400 retail units, the cost to them is under $10k. I call that a good PR business sense no brainer.

Hell....if it was the only cost, I'd pay for the certificate. Think Ford gets $45 for the GT500 cert. I would think that whomever made the decision just plain forgot about the 14's.

But now that I think about this, Ford did something similar when they had all of th 2008-2009 Shelby GT500 KR's sitting here n lots for awhile. They sent the dealers certificates for each car on the lot to be handed over to the new owners. That was after they tagged huge rebates on them. Those who paid over MSRP were out of luck and had to purchase through Ford Racing.

Don't think it's the cost. Someone missed the boat on this one.

Here is the latest on the certificates. I did receive a letter from Chevrolet Customer Care yesterday stating that my VIN number and that the letter would serve as authentication. Not what we were looking for. But I have not given up hope.

Someone from Chevrolet needs to be made aware of the situation and I am sure they would extend the certificate program to the 2014 Owner Group.

Holding out hope. Have some things in the works. I will keep you posted. Wish I had better news.

Thanks for your efforts, and for keeping this alive. Hope something good comes from it in the future!

I have a 15 model and have not received one yet. I believe I should have got one by now. I have had mine over 90 days so how long does it take?

Just checked my timeline for receiving it.... 4 1/2 to 5 months from time of purchase is what it took for mine.
Here's hoping it comes earlier for you.

Wow,I did not know it would take that long. My ZL1 did not take 30 days if I remember right to get a certificate. O well, I guess the wait will be longer.
