Range AFM Delete Question?

Hi I've searched but couldn't find what I was looking for. I have the Range AFM Delete in my car and it has thrown some codes the last few days but was fine for quite a long period. Service Parking Brake, Service power steering and an Engine Light on once... I'm sure it is just from the Range as car is fine once restarted after a few minutes and no lights then.

I know it can be updated by Range but they mention different revisions or manufacture periods as to its function. Is there a way to tell its revision? I don't see anything in that regard.

I got it last August or September from APEX if that matters?

Thx...

I emailed them a few weeks ago asking the same thing. They said to just send it to get updated software. They couldn't tell me what my current version was by giving them the serial number on the side of the unit.

Ok thank you Low Saturn I guess I will just have to send it in too. Kind of a pain I had the car sitting all winter and now its back out. I should have done it then. I don't think I could stomach 4 cylinder mode again even for a second haha..

Mines lit up like a christmas tree before. All I did was shut off the car unplug the range for a few minutes. Plugged it back in, started up the car, and everything was good! I noticed it happens when I shut the car off and don't exist right away or until the radio has shut off. Then I go to start the car and boom lights.

Just use your paddles until you get it back.

Range technology, will update it for free, shipping on mine took 1 week, sent it Monday afternoon via usps priority 2 day. received Saturday morning. U are responsible for shipping costs to and from. Not much cost involved. I bought it last June 2014, revised in December. No warning lights, “nothing” just smooth driving. Permagrin restored. Before the update though, I was getting service stability, service power steering, abs warning cels.

I recently got the update they claim is flawless for anything pre-2014.

I have a 2013. Still throws codes.

Am I happy with the product? YES.

Is there flawless claim BS? YES.

Mine works pretty much flawlessly on my 2014. The only issue I've had is battery drain this past winter. I was only driving the car once or twice a week, and then on short trips. The Range uses quite a bit of juice when the car is parked. Don't know what version I have, but I bought it in early January of this year.

Just don't shift while turning... or turn while shifting.

I've got the latest version and I have the same type of issues happening with my car as well. I think the only real way maybe to bypass the AFM is to buy a tuner and turn the AFM off. Then turn it back on if taking it in for warranty work and hope they don't check the history in the computer. I read somewhere that those tunes are stored in a history file somehow? I'm not happy with the idea that I'll have to reset this thing every few weeks. That's BS.

Thx for all of the replies. Seems it is still a bit hit or miss on the update quality. I'll let it run for a while and see if it keeps acting up. Drove her tonight and was fine. As noted above I did restart the car once right away which may have aggravated things a bit. Would love to tune it out too but bye bye warranty so this will have to do. On the whole its been a worthwhile addition just a bit tedious when it lights everything up.....
