Same here while I agree a good ass spanking made us think maybe we shouldn't do that because my ass is going to be as red as a firetruck from teachers or your neighbors or parents or grandpa or uncle or Dads best friend But With todays society if you even think about spanking your child today they will have you thrown in jail for child abuse and your child will be put in protective care . There lies the problem with todays generation, and it takes way more work to explain that doing something like this is not acceptable and punishment should be grounding and hard work , Most parents are either too busy with work , Too lazy to follow through or Drunks or are trying to be the kids best friend instead of a parent . The only solution is to allow parents and teachers to give that swat on the ass without fear of being thrown in jail.

The world is not a better place so take off your rose colored glasses. Kids go to school shooting each other now. That didn't happen when I was a kid. When teachers would break out the paddle and kids were disciplined for doing wrong.

I would be pissed. It takes a village to raise a child, not the village people. LOL. In his case, their circumstances, parents, and their village failed.

The village can help teach right and wrong, the differences between them as well as the consequences of choices made.

I agree. If you touch these kids, you will be sitting in jail while they are home watching tv or playing with the xbox and nothing happens to them.

This is VERY SAD ! I never understand when I see this kind of senseless destruction. The fact that the media has been showing riots on TV every nite for the last week I am sure has some effect on those with no concept of right and wrong of what may be justifiable behavior. It's very scary out there . I feel for you, I think I would be walking in a daze thinking this can't be happening. It blows my mind how America centric some of you are. We have the highest incarceration rate in the civilized world, and we still lead or are near the top in violent crime ststistics.

And you guys want to give up hope and assume that an 8 and 9 year old can never lead a productive life. And some how the people fighting against that mentality are getting called idiots. It's absolutely astounding.

By the way, my parents never laid a finger on me, and somehow I turned out to ba a normal, compassionate, productive member of society. I wonder how my magician parents managed to raise three great kids without hitting any of them. Maybe they're aliens.
