I understand and agree with what everyone's saying.. Especially because you have to love yours. If you're only interested in the latest and greatest you'll never be satisfied. That's a hunger that will never be satisfied because there will always be something better.
NOW, That being said.. If you end up purchasing a new gen 5 (and aren't particularly interested in the fact that it's the gen that revived the camaro or senteimental value) right before the new gen is released, you're gonna be sick lol. It's going to better than the 5 gen in every way. Looks (subjective, but it looks like more like the stingray which EVERYONE loves), Performace, Comfort, Technology.. I debate on going out and purchasing a 5th gen almost every other day but I know I'd feel sick seeing the gen6 next to me at a light knowing if I'd shown more patience id be better off. Generally to avoid this feeling It's always best to try to buy a new car as close to its introduction as possible. For the gen 5 that was 2010. I at least have to wait until I can test drive a gen 6 before I snatch up a gen 5 now. No camaro for me until the 6th hits the lots... |

True. But I think the OP is focusing on the fact that this is a completely new generation of Camaro. Not just a model year. 2016 is significant. |

I hope the gen 6 is a thing of beauty. Regardless, I bought the exact gen 5 I wanted (2SS, vert, etc) and it is here to stay. 9500 miles two years later - I'm going to have this for a while.

There are already other cars that are faster and lighter than the current Camaro. What difference does it make if the C6 is faster? It's a different car. I have raced my SS exactly zero times since I bought it, so does it really matter?

The Gen 6 would have REALLY be something to make me upgrade, but I'd really take a hit in the wallet to do so. |

No issues at all. There are cars out now that could be considered "better" than our 5th gens but this car is ours and thats what makes it special. Dont forget also that it took a couple of years to make some positive changes to the 5th gens, (steering wheel, my link, no vert the first year plus the problems with the vert before 2012, more power for the V6, etc). I wouldnt be in such a rush for the new 6th gen, not to mention someone's always going to have a nicer car than you. so what if it's another Camaro.

I wouldn't really sweat it, I don't like the pushed up face with big headlights most car manufacturers are going for nowadays.
Just throw some money at your current car and basically future proof it with a ridiculous amount of power. Stock is boring after all right?

Meh, I'm not too worried about it.
I'll keep what I have, get the heck off the auto loan payment train and put that money in my IRA. Maybe eventually I'll look for a 13 - 15 1LE or ZL1, but only after they've depreciated enough to be reasonable (reasonable to my pocket book, anyways...) |

The ONE thing that I will be envious of though, is the Mag Ride option the Gen6 will come with. Oh well, Coils are still better performance wise anyway, and I have a feeling I will still favor the looks of the Gen5 more.

These is no way I'll be able to afford a Gen 6 SS or equivalent of what I have now so it will be a long ass time IF I ever decide to get one.

As long as it outsells the Stang......
I would love to have the latest and greatest but this car performs great (even for a vert!). Plus, it turns a lot of heads which I do enjoy and don't think it will change once the new gen comes out. J |

I plan on keeping my vintage 2010 Camaro for another 1 or 2 years, maybe longer.

Obviously, you should never buy a car, because a better one is just over the horizon.
