Should there be a gab between Upper Strut Retainier and body after lowering
After installing lowering springs on the front of my Camaro I noticed a 1/4 between upper strut retainner and the strut housing. Is this normal? The upper nut is tightened to the point the Upper Strut Retainer is making contact with the Spring Perch Retaining nut. See attached images any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks Never mind Found answer to question in this post. Thanks http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=396671 Last edited by dragonkeyper; 05-04-2015 at 08:18 AM. Reason: Answer found |

Get this and put it there. Cleans up the look.

The gap is always there to some degree.

The Gap is supposed to be there as the assembly pivots. If the gap was not there, the suspension would bind up!

This is why the gap it there. It allows the strut to articulate.
Restricting the movement with a toilet seal is not recommended. This is what the articulation looks like after installing JPSS Camber Plates. Last edited by JusticePete; 05-05-2015 at 10:04 AM. |
