New lfx engine

Anybody know how much a new engine goes for? And about how much labor would be. I'm debating weather to trade the lease back in and pay and it not being my problem or throwing in a new engine, whichever route is cheaper

The retail price on a new LFX crate engine is $4,700. As for labor, I have no clue.

It got denied today and okay well to trade the lease back in would be about 6,000. Hmmm, decisions

I don't have an LFX motor but the replace cost for my LLT (covered under Warranty) out the door (motor+labor) was $6405.86

That price isn't so bad. I'm gonna have to think about this Decision. And from 3 weeks after I got the car it's been given me problems. Rn it was bc back in December it started misfiring badly. By the time iw as gonna take it in. It went back to normal. Skip a few months. It came back worse and at one point cyl 1-6 were misfiring I took it in. They said they "fixed it". Nothing happened. Took it back after taken out my HfC. N told them it was tuned. They had ppl come from gm to look and they denied me the warranty. So now car is running hot and misfiring on cyl 2,4,6. So missing half the engine. Happens occasions at idle. But very little maybe 2-4 misfires. Then fine until 5-7K when I'm pushing it where it will have hundreds of misfires on 2,4,6, a/f ratio drops and 02 sensors seem normal and short term and long term fuel banks seem okay also. Same with fuel pressure

Edit : told dealer there might be a cracked head gasket bc my coolant hose from engine decides to explode a day before I take it in and so I found oil in the coolant and he says he did the test but it's okay, idk just finding it hard to belirve

have you replaced all your spark plugs and sparkplug wires? My last car was misfiring on a few cylinders because one of the wires was shorting out.

What mods you have done? What has been touched on the engine? It will help people see if we can help pin point your problem. Dealers suck

I haven't done the wires. I've done the spark plugs. I would hope the first thing the dealer would do be to check The wire and plugs, But I haven't , and the list goes, air scoop. Cold air intake, ported tb ported manifold, tune and high flo cats, the hi flo cats got clogged bc of all the misfires so took those off and I'm on facotry cats now And I'm on a facotry tune rigt now. . So I have cold air intake ported tb and ported manifold on right now

Is it common to mod a leased car? It had never occurred to me that this could be done. And do you take back the mods when the lease is up?
