I did a ride along with my old college roommate after he became a cop. Using the PA system and yelling at a bunch of crack dealers was fun but I could not imagine doing it in my own car.

You should just install a karaoke machine in your car.

I have this PA/siren in my S-10 Blazer: (well, not this exact one, but similar, just an older model)

When I bought it and installed it, it was mostly a novel thing that I thought would be cool to mess with my friends with.

In theory, it was great. However, in practice all I really use it for is the "air horn" that's part of it and occasionally telling someone at night that their headlights are not on, that someone should turn off their blinker, or moo'ing at cows when I drive past a pasture (yes, I've actually done that one, it's kind of funny).

On a scale of 1 to 10 on "worth it" investment, I'd give it about a 4. It's kind of cool, but after a while it's nothing special and you end up wondering why you spent so much money on something that you never really use.

And if you ever click it over to one of the siren noises and actually use it on public roadways, you can easily get yourself in a LOT of trouble very quickly. I've been able to show my restraint, but it's incredibly tempting to use it for irresponsible acts and get yourself in a world of legal hurt real quick before you even realize it.

Long story short: save the money and just upgrade your horn to something a little louder, because that's pretty much all you'll ever use it for.

Good luck with that gun in the console.

Used to have one in an old f150. They are a blast for being juvenile and pulling pranks. If that's what you want to do (no judgement by me at all) I say go for it, but if your honestly trying to say "I think I could use it for car shows and not in a juvenile manor" I think it's not worth the one or two times it could actually come in legit handy. Own up to enjoying some juvenile fun and get one!

Honestly we don't care whether you get a PA for your car or not and we don't care what you do with the PA once you get it.

You asked for everyone's opinion on it and we told you what we think. Were you expecting a different outcome?

There are idiots out there who try to take guns from people, especially when they are drunk. The you shoot them and go to jail for a very long time. PA or not, that is not a good plan, even if you lived in a stand your ground state.

Had one in the car when I was 16. The novelty of being an annoying teenager wore off after a few months and I removed it and sold it to a friend who wanted to be an annoying teenager. I could think of plenty of other ways to spend money on my Camaro at this point.

Think about it...gun in the center console... (what kind of gun would even fit in there?)

I can't even think of what the center console looks like, but I think it's real shallow in my car. I've only carried a gun in a lock box, in the trunk, never in the console.

I could easily fit my conceal carry in the center console and do so often.

Not really doubting it, just imagining the barrel length. It's gotta be a real small pistol. TBH I haven't carried in a vehicle, it's always been in a lockbox. I have a pistol (Glock 17) for use at home and that I carry in rural areas but I've never carried in a glovebox or console.
