From someone who owns them both SO I CAN compare! Camaro better quality ??? ![]() let's see, paint sucks, panels falling off, do a search in the forum, I don't have the time to list all the crap, over a C5 maybe, a C6 no way, ![]() when the C6 was introduced in 05, these problems did not exist ! Camaro is a nice car that I like very much, it filled the void Chevy had and managed successfully to take sales away from Dodge (Challenger) and Ford (Mustang) why do folks RIGHT NOW like the Camaro better....It's new/fresh, ![]() in a year not one person will be looking at your/mine car, they will be a dime a dozen ! just like the Chally and Stangs... but the Corvette...will always be a Corvette! ![]() now please...wake up ! nothing personal j/k

I know that sounds biased since I own one but I felt that way long before I decided to invest in mine. Guess it was love at first sight. Of course this is all just my humble opinion but I bet I'm not alone...

I can't wait for my new Camaro, but I owned an 07 VR vert and currently an 09 VY vert and in my opinion the Vette and Camaro do not compete with each other at all. The Vette is a purebred demon of a sports car while the Camaro is a cutting edge muscle car. Both very nice(why we have the Camaro on order), but clearly not comparable no more than the mustang or challenger is to the Vette.IMHO

I hate this topic. Yeah i guess I am crazy because my opinion does not line up with other peoples...
I am sorry. IMO Corvettes are nothing special. I don't have to comform. Sorry if your LT camaro does not compare to your LS3 corvette... From day one, march 2007 I was not overy impressed with the build quality of my corvette. Same sterring wheel as... well most GM cars, same radio, boring uncomfortable seats, creaky top, no frills interior, carpet that isn't even tucked under any moldings (look behind the seats) cheap plastic tabs holding panels on roof and inner b-pillar that broke off, harsh ride, sloppy shifter (I went HURST), sloppy steering at low speeds then all of a sudden it tightens up, sometimes unexpectedly, piss poor, yes piss poor audio system... shall I go on? These are just all the things I didn't like about my C6. Sure the performance was there but if it came down to it, i'd put myslef behind the wheel of my 2SS against MOST (not all) most corvette drivers anyday... I go to plenty of car shows and cruise ins, most C6 drivers are old men with way more moeny then skill. I saw a yellow C6 with NOS at a show a while back so I tried to strike up a conversation with the guy, maybe in his mod 60's... huh imagine that a 30 something kid trying to talk to a corvette owner... well I asked him how it runs when he hits the NOS? His rreply, I never hit it and don't plan to... its just for show... WTF are you serious Typical Corvette owner. Sorry, its my opinion and no corvette hugger is going to change it... remember, I had 5. 67, 92, 95, 00, 07 so I have had my share of experience. Lets put the Corvette -vs- Camaro war to bed. No more should I trade my corvette for a camaro topics please! |

The vette is going the way of every GM car of the past, when new models are introduced very little is changing. Take the C6 and compare is to the C5, not much change with the back end maybe a little more refined and in the front pretty much all they did was take away the flip up headlights. I'm sorry but here in Michigan I see just as has many Vettes as I do Mustangs, its nothing anymore special then the Camaro.
Come on now you guys act as if its a super rare expensive car to get ahold of. Hell there is a certain Mustang that cost more then the Vette and is less seen on the road. So to think the Vette is some kind of car god, its not its very nice but nothing more. unless they start moving forward of the design and actually changing it to keep up, its not gonna be considered top nichie anymore.

Gee, I like apples but not oranges. Oh, I like oranges but not apples.
I happen to like both apples and oranges.

According to GM..the Camaro is selling well..but the Corvette has and always will keep the lights on.

All that really says to me is that it is grossly overpriced! If a semi-low production car is able to keep the lights on at such a large company, there must be a hell of a lot of profit built in! Maybe that is b/c they don't really change them much. 84-96 with the C4, then as stated the C5/C6 isn't much different. After having both the C5 and the C6 I will say this, the C6 is quite different indeed. But a "gods car" I think not!
