need your help..any thoughts? (UPDATE)
Guys I have a 2014 with 11k miles..it recently started chirping (sounds like crickets) at idle..Of course its under warranty and I took it to the dealer..got it back a day later and they claim they cannot get it to reproduce the noise it made. Even the service advisor heard it. It is intermittent and normally after a few blocks of driving then it happens at idle (like at stop signs or stop lights) Its so annoying and embarrassing. Its too new and should not be doing that. At first I thought it maybe was a bad belt..or pulley but dealer claims all is good..so frustrated...any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

See if the dealer's service advisor would be willing to call in a factory service rep. If not, you may want to find another dealership to look at it. Keep records of all visits for service work and names of who worked on your problem. It may come in handy if you can't get satisfaction on your problem. What dealership are you currently using?

They have a good reputation around these parts. Don't be afraid to press them to get results. Maybe take a video to record the noise the next time it happens. Anyways, they are good and should be able to fix your problem.

FIXED
UPDATE:
FINALLY, after taking it to my dealers (Reliable Chevrolet, Springfield, MO) awesome service station 3 times, and in and out of rental, and they still were unable to "find any issue or noise" .... I finally got fed up and took it to another dealer (Pinegar Chevrolet, Republic, MO) They were able to diagnose the problem within an hour. Catalytic converter (L) was still functioning but failing miserably. Strange that I had no check engine alerts. Anyway, it was replaced under warranty and returned to me in a day. NO MORE NOISE! Additionally, they informed me there have been some issues with ignition tumblers "sticking" that is not good, and that they were repairing along with the key recall. An issue that was going on with mine since the beginning AND that I pointed out to Reliable Chevrolet in which they insisted "all was good". Hmmmm Anyway, that will be fixed soon as well! ![]() ![]() Pinegar Chevrolet Republic, MO |
