I have a Zune and was wondering how if the PDIM can play a zune playlist. I can search through playlists just fine. Playlists are listed along with the songs in the playlist. But I cannot play the playlist by selecting it. Seems like I am missing something stupid.

Bugs I started with;
1.Always switched to USB when I start the car.
2.Indexes everytime I start the car no matter what.
3.Starts with the same song almost everytime I start the car.
4.Always reverts back to non shuffle mode after I selected shuffle before I shut down.

When they were done, it only fixed bug 1, doesn't go to USB automatically anymore.

Anyone know if that update should have fixed any of the other issues?

These are the exact same issues I'm experiencing with my old 30 gig Zune. It's driving me off the wall with it starting over alphabetically every time I start the car. Do any of the sftware versions include a fix?

Will the dealers be notified when the new update is available. I also went to mine because every once in awhile it does not recognize my Ipod. They do not understand how to get the update that is available now.

Sorry if this has been answered before but I can't get through the 7 pages of posts...

Yeah I don't really know how the dealer update process goes. I'm not really involved in that part of the business. I am guessing that it will not be a message sent out about the update, it'll probably just show up in their computers sometime. I think this is probably one of the first parts in our cars that can be updated like this, so it might take a little for everyone to get on the same page and know how it all works.

There is information through these pages about what people did to get their dealer to find the update and get it downloaded, so for the time being, that's my only suggestion. You could also try visiting another dealer and see if their technicians are a little more tech-savvy.

I guess that I should take mine to the Dealership now. Everytime I plug in my iPod it starts at the exact same song. Will the update fix this issue?

If you are using an actual iPod then it shouldn't do this. The iPod tells the vehicle which song it was last playing and should continue from there. If it's starting at the same song, that is acting just like a USB drive, in which case your iPod may not be fully supported. What type of iPod are you using? It has to be relatively new and can't be a shuffle.

My understanding from the service manager at the dealer I go to said the updates are available at ALL dealers at the same time. It is all linked to GM global now by phone. All they need to do is update the tech II and software to the dealers network.
By the way, my MP3 does exactly what is indicated above.
THANK YOU codeman for EVERYTHING you've done and continue to do with all your advise and shared knowledge here!!!!!!

It is an 80GB iPod that is about 3 years old. Every time that I plug it in it will start at the same song every time.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Another quick check to see if your iPod is supported is how it shows up when you have it connected. Does it say iPod and have a nice pretty little iPod picture (much like my avatar ), or does it say USB?

If it's saying USB then it's not a supported iPod, but if it is, it shouldn't be operating that way. When you have your iPod disconnected, pick a song and start listening to it. When you connect it to the vehicle, it should pick up that song and continue playing it over the car's speakers. Just another couple checks you could run.

Yes it shows up as an iPod on the screen, and no it will not pick up where the last song was. It will always start with the same song every time it connects.

I hope that there other options to fix this problem.

Will the PDIM Software update fix my problems?

Thanks HTWLSS, I'll remember that. I'm in Texas right now. Got an appointment for 8am Monday morning. Dealer said it will take 3-4 hours. Something about having the GM people have to walk them through it.
We'll see Monday and keep your posted.

I had my PDIM system updated (about 2 weeks agao) and it fixed some of my iphone issues. My dealer didn't know about the update so I showed him the information on this site and they found the update. It seems I'm still having problems with the radio’s search feature. It still seems sluggish and some songs and playlists don't show up on the list; there is just a blank line with no text.

Oh, and thanks codeman71 for your previous help.

There is a chance the PDIM software update will fix this problem, but this really sounds more like an issue with the iPod. Have you connected it up to iTunes recently and made sure it has the latest software version? Also, do you know anyone else who has an iPod you might be able to try? That would also help find out if it's something wrong with your PDIM or possibly your iPod.

I'm sorry I don't have much more help, it's just an issue I haven't heard of before and doesn't seem like it's on the vehicle's side, but I could always be wrong!
