Just sent an email to Patrick and spoke to him over the phone as well. Explained the whole story to him and he is going to contact the police and inquire as well.
Hopefully the innocent guy gets off the hook.

I thought there was a rule about line of sight and that if the car you are chasing leaves your line of sight they cant be ticketed. this would have kept the officer from arresting the wrong person in this case.
I was washing my car at the car wash and I had a cop pull up and tell me I was doing 83 in a 65. I told him I had been there for 15 min so he pointed at the black honda next to me and said "then it was you". I asked how he could mistake a Camaro for a honda and he got mad and left. I figured if he could blame it on me he would have.

Patrick just contacted me from Jalopnik and told me he got in contact with a Detective over there and provided me his number. He say's he wants to talk with me and see my footage.
