Does trading in my car to the dealer with only one key hurt value?

Does trading in my car to the dealer with only one key hurt value?

Not because I lost it. I want to keep it as it is the key to my first car. (Dealer does not need to know why)

I never have traded in a car (first car remember).

Does it hurt value?

It will take about 50% off the Blue Book Trade Value.

I wouldn't think so, they can replace the key for practically nothing.

+1 . If they ask about it... just tell them you "misplaced it".

They only need a one key.
I've kept every spare key to my car that I've traded / sold -

And they haven't asked for it either.

And no it does not hurt value for these mass produced car

Fantasyland. It still costs something to make and program a key for a car like the Camaro. If it's a GM dealer they do it for their own cost, which is in theory, less than you'd pay retail, but it still costs something.

Fantasy land where the dealership doesn't have to pay the manufactured for parts. Or pay a tech for labor. I get it now. Wish I lived there.
